Darren, the only one who seems bitter is you. I could care less about Bonus Ball. You don't need to justify your actions with all the mis-assumptions you made here. You pretty much got everything wrong, but maybe you feel better now. I do think Bonus Ball will ultimately fail. You got that one right.

Good luck with your league. Jay

You've been crying on here for the last 2 weeks and ur calling him bitter...lol

You know, I was kind of hoping this thread will just die, but it ain't. :embarrassed2:

I really would not characterize Jay Helfert as "crying," and with all due respect, JD_Hogg, I think that is an unfair characterization to Jay.

Those who are not familiar with who's who in the pool world may misinterpret some of this thread.

Those who are familiar with who's who do value the words written by industry members who have walked the walk, talked the talk, and continue to do so in this fractured industry.

I am confident that Jay, Greg Sullivan, Mark Griffin, and other valued industry members do *not* want to see Bonus Ball fail. In fact, I know this to be the case with Greg Sullivan because I heard the words spoken from his mouth. He said, and I quote, "I really do want Bonus Ball to succeed for the players' sake. I really do."

How about we let this topic rest for now and see how it plays out. I think we've all expressed our thoughts and opinions pretty well. :p

Onward and upward, AzB-ers. The best is yet to come, I hope. ;)

Agreed. And no matter which side you are on, Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there. Never should be any long term dislike based on forum postings.

Let me see if I understand you.

You start this thread and create a poll just to bolster your view.

Now some of the AZer's have challenged a few of your "who's who" friends in the pool world and now we just let it die because you say so.

You may think that your the little darling of the forum, but you are actually just a braggart.

Opinions are just opinions. If you can't stand the heat then get out of the kitchen.

You know, you continue to quote my posts ad nauseum, and that's okay, I guess, if that's what gets your rocks off. Maybe you're lonely.

The truth of the matter is that I believe this topic has been beaten to death.

I can stand the heat just fine on this forum, but I don't care for stalkers, which is what you are now to me on this forum. I've pointed it out before, and here I am doing it again.

The point of my post is to say that all sides have expressed their views and opinions fairly well, and maybe it's time to move on and see how this all unfolds.

Thank you again for representing the spirit and essence of pool with such dignity here in these forums...I guess we couldn't have expected anything less from a World Champion like yourself...I'm finally starting to think that pool will indeed have a bright future going forward as long as there are people like you involved in making it happen....

I'll second that. Daz, since he broke into the american pool scene has always been one of my faves. I've tilted a few with him and "ill shrek" as I fondly refer to him, has been a blast to spend time with.

His posts here have been informative while not sinking into the emotional mud. I hope he posts more, and won't fall into the trap that other pros (think Schmidt and Harriman) have.

His recent posts on BB and pool, IMO, has tempered some of this sh1tstorm. Thank you for that Lil Shrek! Cause if it gets any worse, he just might unleash that pit bull of his and Angie's!!! ;)

You may have grown tired of this thread but others may have not.

The "I" in your statement(s) show just how self centered you really are.

Quit posting. Problem solved..

Well I guess u can see the evidence of this here .. But I can only speak of myself .. I got to make a living I got bills to pay and future to build so I got to do what I feel is best for me .. I got very busy schedule this year so obviously it's not possible to keep everyone happy .. Pool is a lonely life I come from a poor family so I work very hard at my job and I like hard work so I Appreciate what comes my way..

It was a tough decision for me to not play great southern classic because I so much respect for Greg and the events he puts on for us .. But sometimes u can't please everyone .. I understand there frustration but pools a tough life trust me ..
But I love pool so it all worth it.

Here my schedule for the year if goes to plan ..

I will play about 15-16 bonus ball matches in regular season 22 matches total . June 21st- nov Then hopefully play offs because then big money 300k in prize fund play offs alone ..

Ultimate 10ball 17-20th June
June 21-16th July bonus and tournament in San Francisco
July 16-23rd bca one pocket and 10ball
July 24-31st world games Colombia
Aug bonus ball
Aug 16-21st world straight pool ny
Then back to Vegas bonus ball
Sept 3-13th world 9ball championships ,Qatar Middle East
Sept 17-24th World Cup of pool Matchroom York hall, England
Then back to Vegas bonus ball
Oct more bonus ball
Oct 13-19th us open 9ball va
October 14-16 th challenge of champion ct
20-25 back to Vegas
Oct 27-29th world pool masters Matchroom England
Nov bonus ball play off
Nov 20-27th Japan open Osaka
Dec mosconi cup Las Vegas Matchroom hopefully ..

As u can see it tough to keep everyone happy if u play pool full time

Darren

Daz,
I am proud of you as a friend.
I am also proud of you for your ability to respond in polite, honest and tactful manner to the sling shots, arrows smeared with venom directed at you.
you made your point and it is time to exit the AZ Forums and start focussing on your matches in Tunica.

You could be right, maybe crying is harsh. I think Jay's got so hot under the collar on this one he's breathing fire. Really all these guys are doing is trying to make something great for pool. Ya there's been some blunders along the way.

Maybe all this fighting in the end will bring everyone closer together. I hope so.

Happy fathers day to all the dads out there (Jay included) !!!

You're a good man, JD_Hogg! :smiling-heart:

Don't really see why I would be bitter I pulled out of the tournament..
I don't care less if I play another 10ball 10ft 1k invitational tournament again I will not loose sleep over it .

Am not the one going round threatening bans from future tournaments and crying about bonus ball.
Am self employed pool player and not contracted to anyone , I just looking at the bigger picture and I got lot of bigger tournaments to play this year which means I will miss some bonus ball matches .. And am sure the likes of Mika , ralf , thorsten etc are all thinking the same thing as its so important to make the play offs in the bonus ball league..

Hope u get 32 entries and its a huge success because i am one those guys that like to see everything involved with pool go great and be a huge success :-)

Darren

Darren, I wish you all the success in the world. You know I've always liked you, that's why I invite you to play every time. This time you let me down by committing to play and then not telling me that you were withdrawing. I had to find out from a third party. That's not cool with me. I'm an honorable man and I expect the same in return.

Like Mark said, this could have all been avoided if the Bonus Ball people would have shown a little more respect for existing events that are "majors" in the pool world. Sorry that you got caught in the middle of this, along with the rest of the guys. Just be straight with me in the future and make a phone call before you withdraw. I had to reach out to you and make two calls before you returned my call. I wanted to hear it from the horses mouth, not someone else. Knowing that you were entered in the Ultimate Ten Ball, I was certain that you would keep your commitment to the Bigfoot. I guess you proved me wrong. You're a great player with a lot of heart and I wish you the best in the future. I hope we can make this right in Tunica.

Good luck with Bonus Ball. I hope for your sake and all the others you guys get paid for the entire season, along with the bonus money. To me that would be a success and make me feel a little better about the integrity of these people. So far they have shown little respect for anyone else in this industry. If Bonus Ball makes your life better, than I'm all for it. I'm not so sure that's the case on 930 a week and two homes to support. I guess we will both find out soon enough.

Nothing personal, and no disrespect...but sometimes in doing PR for your business, it's better to just let some things pass, and quit pushing, pushing, pushing on it, and having to be right...(it's just bad business to do that)...and...statements like the pro players "should be ashamed of themselves" will live in infamy in my mind anyway etc. etc. etc....

I don't think I said that but I will take your advice. I apologize to everyone for making this public. I got caught up in feeling the need to answer Darren each time. My bad.

Jay...sorry...it wasn't you who said that, it was Mark, I believe...My bad for associating it with you in any way, and I apologize for that, and hope you'll accept...Thanks

That's admirable of you Jay.

I'm sure a lot of us have said some things we'd like back.

Don..

PS.. Happy Fathers Day :)

Maybe that's because you don't have anything worthy to contribute to a pool forum except quoting other people's posts who do: BA-dum-chishhhhhh.
