We all know it is coming on real soon, i tried watching Bonus Ball all ready but i couldnt watch no more the 10mins of it (maybe once i understand whats going on things will changed) I will try and watch Bonus Ball again, hopefully this time it will catch my interest, i would like to see how many members here at AZ BILLIARDS will watch it or not watch it, i think most people here will atleased give it a try, if theirs minds are not already made up that they just dont like it and never will, like i said for me i didnt like what i saw so far, but i will diffently give it another try (unless i have to pay to much money).

We got One Pocket, Banks, 14/1, 8, 9, 10 Ball, and several other games to watch already. Most that I will not watch, so I say NO to WATCHING Bonus Ball.

I agree. I hit the 10 minute mark as well. I'm assuming this is an attempt at getting non pool players and sponsors interested in "pool"... and if it works, great, more power to them.

But, kinda tough to watch it..... I'd like to play it sometime, I'm guessing it is much more fun to play than watch....

But I'm not betting on this being the "new" thing anytime soon..... but I'm still gonna give it a chance.... maybe I'm missing something, maybe I just need to get "use" to it... who knows for sure.... so I don't wanna piss on anyones parade, and think we should give it a shot and see what everyone thinks about it.....

I was like WTF when I first watched it. But now, I get it. And I like it. I am excited for the season to start. I plan on catching a couple matches when I go to Vegas next month.

I think many people have a tendency to be defensive to receiving a new game. Like sjm stated, if you approach it with an open mind you may just find out you will like it. BB has been simplified a good bit and the season hasn't even started. We haven't even seen the final product yet, so I don't understand why some supposed pool afficienados here have shut the door on it already.

I like it and will be watching when I can. Might even buy a set of bonus balls to give it a serious try. Just needs and Android based counter.

I think Bonus ball could help to put pool on the sports map and wish them all well. They sure have a good start and could use our support.

If I cannot get through 10 minutes of a free video, I highly doubt I'll be paying to watch it.

Probably not til after I run 100 balls in straight pool, and five racks of nine ball.

Honestly, I just don't need another set of balls, or a score keeper, a string of beads is just fine with me.

Never really cared to "join the hive". :)

I've watched some of the free videos & personally I like it so yes I'll be watching it when it starts.

I will definitely watch it and HOPE that it is entertaining to the masses if not me, personally.

Haven't seen it yet and can only hope that it is the stimulus that pool so desperately needs.

Watched the samples... some bits of it seemed a little corny, other parts were surprisingly professional looking. The game itself seems pretty straightforward, I wasn't confused... watching the video on the wpba website helps.

I'll buy at least one 'finished product' just to support their effort. But, it would have to be more entertaining and polished than what I've seen on youtube so far if I'm to buy another.

Watched Mika, Rodney and Raj practice in Vegas at the Cue Club. Don't know who was more confused, me or them. Just about every shot, one of them stopped the other to confer on which pocket or which ball. If they're confused how will Joe Average follow it? Hope it succeeds. Give some viewers a chance to see players they've only heard or read about. As I am a poor spectator, doubt if I will have any interest.

I hate to say I will not support pool because I love the game.

Bonus Ball.......... I won't pay to watch it. I won't even watch it for free.

The IPT was the best idea to promote pool......if it wasn't for the scam artist that started it.

Pool took a hit because of him .

Bonus ball is a way to complicate a simple game. We like to play the game for the game. You don't see any one playing pool golf or pool poker in pool halls .... do you??? I predict utter failure of bonus ball.

I really like the idea of a team based from a city which includes uniforms etc. I am not sold on the idea of a new game though. Watching replays is hard for me regardless of the game, however if/when its live I will watch it to see how it goes and to root on some friends that are in it.

I will watch probably the first match. I watch anything on line that involves pool except for one pocket. I can't get my head around watching one pocket on the tv or computer but every other game I watch because I play them so I can relate to them. I don't play bonus ball and quite frankly really don't want to so my viewing experiences will probably be very limited. I will be optimistic though and give it one try.

I think it's a pretty cool change and will definitely watch it.
However, I already pay to much for TV.
What's going to hurt it unlike other sports , it will be an added expense to watch it. That really sucks when you can watch any other sport on espn... Which most of us already pay for. Whith millions at stake I would like to see pool get a channel of its on. I would definitely subscribe

At this point in time, I have 100% no interest in bonus ball, gimmicky game. I am not even sure why, I am even posting in a bonus ball thread lol

I would think that the first couple would be free but i will likely watch the kick off in any event. Its probably less than 50/50 ill watch all of it-we shall see.

Yes, I will watch. I posted a while back that you need to both try the game on a table and watch it in order to get a good sense of what's going on. Understanding it makes it much more fun to watch or play thereafter.

Think back to the first time you saw one-pocket being played. For many people, the first reaction is that it's pretty damn boring and they don't see the excitement. Then you finally try it and see how a good player consistently improves their position own without selling out, and how elegant the game is. All of a sudden, it's fun to play and watch (at least, fun to watch unless you have two really slow and and really risk averse players). Even though you knew the rules right away (8 balls into one pocket), to be able to enjoy watching it, you have to play it. And to be able to play it, it really helps to watch some good players playing it.

Long story short, if you want to really give Bonus Ball a fair shot, I think you have to play it for an hour or two (using three stripes, three solids, and the 8) and also watch it. You still might not like it, but that's the nature of life. I don't like 9-ball and some people don't like 14.1, 1P, or 8 Ball.

P.S. Here's part of what I wrote in an old post after watching and trying the game:

3. There's a lot to like about BB. As you play it, you can tell how the makers tried to combine the better elements of 8-ball, rotation games, one pocket, and a little straight pool, while trying to increase the pace of the game relative to one pocket. I think they succeeded in that attempt. Also, it's interesting and challenging that, in the early part of a rack, it's pretty wide open and there are lots of options on how to run balls (like 8-ball, but with a modest sequence requirement). Later in the rack, you want to put balls by one of your holes while keeping them away from your opponent's holes. Even though there are three pockets, this part is more like one-pocket than you might think -- that is, the extra pockets don't play much of a role (see the John Barton thread on getting spotted two extra pockets in one-hole against a champion).

I really can't understand why people aren't 100 percent behind BB
Whats not to like? If you can't afford it, then that's understandable .
But WTH , we've got people hating that have never seen it.
THAT'S WHAT'S WRONG WITH POOL

huh, seriously? so if people have no interest in something it means they are haters? lol Whats wrong with pool? plenty of leagues, tourneys where i am from, i see nothing wrong with pool? Get mad at the higher ups who dump matches on espn or guys that stiff the pro's at tourneys, etc and not us everyday average guys.
