"There is written record right from the horses mouth". As if that settles it. Come on folks. Both horses have interest in this matter. Do you really think their word should be taken for truth. Clearly at least one is lying. I say both. But wouldn't they say exactly what they said if they were in on it. Or something very similar.
Jam, there is no evidence to support your opinion. You may be relying on the word of the perpetrators. What is written in this forum is not evidence of the crime. It's evidence of what they said about the crime.
Probably no evidence to support my theory also. But, I still believe it's much more likely that two pool players would make this move and dump their backers than the scenario of two pool players leaving 34k under the table while one goes to the bath room with no one watching for him....
The written word of both players -- NOT perpetrators -- is on this forum for all to read. Both players, Little John and Tony Ruberto, have posted on this forum. I believe that Little John was actually posting his words and was not an imposter, and I also believe that the post from Tony Roberto was not an imposter.
Here is a recap:
Tony Ruberto invites Liljohn to come to his home turf in Boston to play a game of high stakes. Liljohn accepts Tony's kind offer and travels to Boston with one friend, Lilrob. Tony is on site with his backer and several railbird sweaters.
Tony beats Liljohn for an undisclosed sum. Liljohn still has money in his pockets and decides he wants to take another shot at Tony and asks if he can play him once more, the SECOND set.
The next day, Liljohn and Tony play a second set for another undisclosed sum. This time, Liljohn beats Tony. The two players negotiate to play a THIRD set, this time for 17 dimes each.
Liljohn and Lilrob should have gone to sleep before they played the third set, but they decided to move full speed ahead without the benefit of rest.
The house man at the pool room was deemed as "goofy" by both players. So, instead of giving the house man the post, the players put the post consisting of 34 dimes in an envelope and placed it underneath the pool table that they were playing on.
The THIRD set, Little John and Tony Ruberto battle it out for 8 hours. At one point during the match, Tony Ruberto is on the hill of the ahead set. Liljohn never gives up, and after 8 hours, he gets back to even.
It was at this point when Liljohn got to even that he decides to take a rest room break. Liljohn's friend Lilrob was sleeping on and off in his chair during the THIRD and lengthy 8-hour set due to lack of sleep. When Liljohn returned from the rest room break, he notices that the envelope with the post is not underneath the table. This is when all hell broke loose.
Roach would have the readers of this forum believe that since Liljohn and Tony Ruberto are "pool players" that "it's much more likely that two pool players would make this move and dump their backers."
I respectfully submit that Roach's theory is prejudicial in nature as it pertains to the Boston Burglary when he lumps all pool players as movers and dumpers. He insults not only me by referencing the company I keep, but every pool player who engages in games of high stakes.
In conclusion, the money is gone. It was stolen by an unknown entity. Having had the benefit of speaking to several of the parties before, during, and after the THIRD and final match between Tony Ruberto and Liljohn, I am of the strong opinion that Liljohn and Lilrob were ripped off.
