Bought a set of used balls...Aramith Millenium packaging, good-looking normal 2-1/4" set of #1-15 + cue.
I am wiping them down when I notice they feel heavy so I weigh them. Each and every one is from a minimum of 6.4oz to a max of 6.6oz; not just the cue.
To make sure my scale is accurate, I measure my off-brand measle ball: 5.9oz, as it should be. My cue: 19.7oz... right on the money.
Anyone know of a full set of Aramiths (besides these ;)) that were made at ~6.5oz each instead of 5.5-6.0oz OR what kind of balls these really could be?

Did I get swindled?

Ummmmmmmmmmmm

Ummmmm,............... All I can say is that y standard Aramith Centennial balls weigh either 5.7 or 5.75 oz each. The cue ball in the set weighs 5.9 oz.
and the numbers on the balls don't look like the ones you have.

You got a mismatched set. Look at the six ball, it has a line underneath the number and the rest does not. Better luck next time...

You're right, the second upside-down 6 also has the line

They are not the Aramith set that the box goes to that's for sure, I mean TWO 6-balls? And one facing the wrong way to boot!

CreeDo looks to have nailed the set, I thought the numbers were a bit poorly lined up to be Aramith but I though that was maybe just the picture. Looks to be just poor quality.

A few years ago (I haven't checked lately) you could get a set of balls that look just like the ones you show delivered to your home for $30. Yes, new and delivered, from China, of course. With off-color reddish balls (3,5,11,13).

Is it just me or does the 5 on the fifteen ball appear to be shorter than the 1 on that same ball???

I had a friend one time buy a set of balls for his table from WallyWorld. Don't remember the brand (Sportcraft???), but I do remember the balls feeling very heavy. They wouldn't roll very good either, nor would they carom off of one another with any action to speak of. I wish I would have taken my scale over there and weighed a couple of them. I bet they exceeded 7 ounces each!!!

Not just you, I though the same thing that the numbers were not very well placed.

Money should be refunded for this as it's NOT an Aramith set. Akin to selling a K-mart ring in a Tiffany box.

Yikes! Both of my sets have upside down sixes too, sh$t! You know, attention to detail has never been my strong suit and is prolly the reason I did so poorly in both school and mirage, wait, I mean marriage. :embarrassed2:

I google everything when ordering off any sites that may seem ify. Sorry you got the hard end.

Thanks for reinforcing what I suspected. It was an eBay Paypal (CC) purchase.
The seller has 100% positive feedback with quite a few transactions so I wasn't too worried about getting screwed.
Just wanted to make sure I didn't get a set made for some form of billiards that I had never heard of lol.
Now I know they just aren't the right balls.
Thanks everyone big time!

EBay item # 170965378065 just FYI.

Don't know about pool balls, but Aramith snooker balls should be within 3 grams, that's 0.1 oz.

The top of the line tournament set matches within 1 gram.

Perhaps you bought a collection of rejects. :D

Lol and all of them almost exactly 6.5oz :)

Seller offered $20 refund on a set of balls I can't resell in good conscience, can't play with, and can only give away to someone that wants extra-heavy balls. I tell you that .6 oz over real Aramiths makes a big difference...like playing with a full set of 16 bar box quarter-table balls...just too dang heavy!
Anyway,
Escalating to eBay resolution arbitration or whatever. In my dealings in the past, a listing this blatantly wrong is automatically awarded against the seller for a full refund of purchase + shipping paid to the buyer (me).
Wish me luck and maybe I will buy in person or from AZ sellers with good iTrader ratings ;) from now on.

Make sure you dispute it as a counterfeit item....you may find they rule in his favor because it looks like he sent you pool balls...they do however take knock offs seriously if notified
