Break & Run by RunOut Media is AWESOME!

I suggest players stop thinking about their arm/elbow and start thinking hand/cue.

This DVD set is awesome. The instruction is top notch, and hell, listening to Earl run his rack on disc three is awesomely entertaining.

Question: What do others think about the elbow drop discussion on disc one? I'm not giving an opinion either way. I just found a players perspective very interesting, considering all the talk on here about the evils of the elbow drop.

Always remember, "The world is against you."

I've never met a pro that has mentioned the "elbow drop". I suggest players stop thinking about their arm/elbow and start thinking hand/cue. The moment of "Truth" is when you hit the cue ball.....it's the Contact that's key.

Having him teach kicking & banking systems was incredibly difficult, as he's learned to do it all on instinct over the years. He doesn't remember how he does things anymore, but rather just does them automatically.

A while ago I remember seeing a link to Alex's portion of the DVD, as a free sample.

To be honest I was a little let down, and decided not to purchase the set. He's very ...'unscripted' and casual, and my experience was not that he was unloading one secret after another. Instead it was all common knowledge... "if you hit hard it shortens the angle", that sort of thing.

I was hoping for some deeper insights or maybe a few systems.

I don't mean any disrespect, maybe it's just that segment. In fact I was wondering if maybe using that one as the 'teaser' backfired a little. If the other segments have more meat to them I'd be game to get the set.

I appreciate the info on the DVD's as well. JoeyA, I wish that you and your family have many more Christmases to come. I am glad you are my friend.
I hurt my back last week, so I might not be playing for a little while. Lower back at that. It is always a pleasure to see you and watch you play your game.
Many Regards,
Lock n Load.

Hey Mr. Lock. SORRY to hear you hurt your back. Maybe your medical provider has already suggested it but I threw my back out recently and the velcro type "back brace" that you see people wear who do a lot of heavy lifting REALLY helped me.

You can get them at most of the major drug store chains.

With GREAT respect....I have heard WORLD CHAMPIONS discuss the elbow drop.

Sure, the elbow MAY not drop until after the CB is struck but the elbow drops as a RESULT of what you have done prior to CB contact.

It's like saying that a decelerating stoke speed doesn't make any difference because the tip contacts the CB at a GIVEN speed and the CB doesn't know that the tip has been slowing down or speeding up.

There is a lot to know about the elbow drop and not all of it is bad. SO much depends on WHEN and HOW MUCH the elbow drops.

Dr. Dave's site has a discussion here...and probably elsewhere.

CreeDo, that wasn't a teaser. That was a 10 minute portion of the DVD pirated on the internet illegally. The entire boxset is almost 4 hours long.

oh sh-t. I saw someone link it on here but didn't realize it wasn't intentionally put out there.
Sorry, carry on then.

I like what you just said, CJ. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

$80 is worth to me even I just learn one thing new.. that will translate to far more $ in the pool room than $80.

I have to say that I feel the same way. When watching the outtakes I heard Rodney say that he had a problem reading about looking at the object ball last because he doesn't really look at it last, he looks at the cueball last I felt let down when I realized he was reading a script. I love your production though. If you do create a break and run 2 then please just assign topics and let the pros teach their material, that is totally different then having them present what someone else wrote. With your production and real lessons break and run 2 would be at the top of my wish list.

The only script was diagrams of example shots, and a point form list of content that should be covered. That way I could be assured that we covered all the content within the allotted time frame, and that the assigned player didn't overlook anything (these guys arent exactly the most organized lol).

I've contemplated doing a follow up, but sales aren't exactly spectacular (piracy has killed me), so I'm in no rush to go out and drop 5 figures again any time soon. :p

Either way, I appreciate the kind words and the support.

I just got my copy of this and watched a few minutes I cant wait to watch it all. It looks great.

I got some good info from the set, I had to watch it twice because of all the info. One thing that was invaluable to me was Chris Melling and his info on 8 ball and the break.

I've been hesitant about pulling the trigger on this one, till I found this post. Sounds like it will be among my next purchases.
