I just returned from my trip to the US Open, where I filmed what will soon become 'Break & Run', an extremely advanced instructional series featuring 13 of the worlds top players.

I'm working on the cover, and am looking for some constructive criticism. Or even better, everyone just say "looks good" so I can move on to the editing process. :p

Thanks!

PS. Only 6 players are on the over. The remaining 7 players are sub roles, and they'll be on the back cover. These players include Strickland, Melling, Mills, Klatt, Hatch, Morra, and Shaw.

PPS. I realize Darren is the only one holding a cue. Having all the players hold a cue looked silly, but I wanted to keep a pool cue on the cover somewhere to emphasize the fact that the DVD is a billiard product.

PPS. The trailer will be released next week, along with a pre-order option. The DVD will then ship sometime around December 1st.

looks fantastic Nathan...although i would put Appleton in front since he is the back to back us open winner and holding the cue. would be a bigger selling point if he were in front where Darren belongs !!!

Great job Nathan.
Maybe Darren in front since he just won twice. If the content is more by Alex or another player, then they should probably be featured.

Looks pretty good... Why you have Rodney on there twice???

I kid I kid.... I just know Raj loves being told they look alike =)

looks good..only thing i think would be cool is if they were all holding a cue..jmo

Looks good. I see no reason to change anything. The style of the cover is attractive, the idea of the basic content comes across well, and the fact that some of the best players are in the DVD is obvious. Good job.

Looks great. Forget the other criticisms, you're at the point of diminishing returns, no point spending 20% of your time making it another 3% better. It's already a better looking cover than the vast majority of pool DVD's out there.

Best of luck with the editing. I have been looking forward to seeing this for a while.

Looks great, Nate!

I'm definitely excited for the content. I will definitely be one of many to order a set when they're ready. Let me know when you're in Toronto again, we should shoot a few.

My only thought is to put the 7 other players' names on the front - perhaps in a smaller font on the bottom as an "also featuring" because when I read the "13 of the top players", the first thing I thought was "um, who though..?"

Aside from that it looks amazing, I love how it has that Runout Media feel to it.

Take care & good to know you got home safe from this year's Open. ;)

I think it looks good, can't wait to see it.

If I were to change anything I would drop the players names down so they are on or just below the players.

This would give you lots of room at the top to enlarge both the title and/or the logo. Maybe add something like Runout media (the logo) and then 'presents' underneath followed by Break and Run underneath.

Nobody else would notice, but they are all the same height. Alex must be standing on a box. :D

Cover looks good. Don't need to change a thing, IMO.

I take that back. There is a punctuation error. You have the Arabic number and number words in the same sentence. It needs to be one or the other.

Your words on the cover read as follows: Contains over 4 hours of content featuring thirteen of the world's top players.

This is incorrect. All numbers over 10 should be Arabic numbers, but when used within the same sentence, they each need to be the same and consistent, not some written out and some using Arabic numbers.

Here is one punctuation source, out of many, that explains why: Be consistent within a category. For example, if you choose numerals because one of the numbers is greater than nine, use numerals for all numbers in that category. If you choose to spell out numbers because one of the numbers is a single digit, spell out all numbers in that category.

Source: Jane Straus Grammar Book on Writing Numbers.

Example A: Contains over 4 hours of content featuring 13 of the world's top players

Example B. Contains over four hours of content featuring thirteen of the world's top players

Personally, Example A reads better to my eye and is technically correct.

I also don't like the ampersand and would elect to use the word "and" in this phrase: Advanced Instruction in 8, 9, and 10 ball. I would also use the serial comma after "9."

Not many people in the pool world may notice these punctuation conundrums, but FWIW, if you want it to be correct, I submit these edits for your consideration.

If your video is about breaking and running out in rotation, and Earl Strickland is a part of this video (sub-role?) I think your video is perfect as is, but with one addition. Earl Strickland's face should be floating above them, looking down over them w/ intense ferocity as only Earl can look - similar to historical religious imagery of the rath of God. Perhaps his eyes could have a little extra lighting in the pupils to give him even more supernatural appeal. You think that wouldn't sale videos?.....

I'm kidding....it looks great.
