Breaking News from Jacksonville

I just spoke with Shane and its all true. They both were forfeited. They both though they were supposed to play at 1 only to find out they were forfeited when they got there.

Shane said Corey did pop Charlie a little love tap and was kicked out of the event. LOL...it sucks that something like this happens but the thought of Corey walking up and swinging on Charlie just seems so surreal to me that I find it hilarious. Hopefully nothing but some pride and egos were damaged in the altercation. I wonder why Corey was so worked up, just doesnt seem like him .Maybe one day they can sort it out.

Lenny - some people haven't thrown as many punches as you have so their aim might not be so exact. I think Corey making contact is a bonus.
That's kinda what I was thinking. At least he didn't slap him with a purse.

I wish ProPoolVideo would have recorded this. I would pay to see Corey swing a punch.

Well one thing I know is dont hit the guy in the forehead,go for the nose, eye, and the best is the jaw,why the forehead, that and the top of the skull do little damage.

its a quick way to break your hand too, thats the worst possible place to throw a punch, Elbows are so much more effective anyways.

Check your rep :)

I would like to know what Charlie did after he got hit. If he did nothing it was the right move, however if he went after Corey I can't blame him for that either. I'm sure CDE didn't just thow one and them they both walked away. If anyone knows I would be interested, I do not condone this type of behaviour but it is a bit strange and interesting.

This is also the same room that had it's wall punched by Charley Bryant after losing a match, Bankshots could be called "hookshots" if this type of thing continues.

I would think there would have to be some conflict on the board for 2 seasoned pros like Corey and Shane to both not be there on time. I've heard that Charlie isn't one who easily accepts blame (even if he is at fault), so I'll wager that at least some of Corey's frustration was warranted.

I would have thought that out of respect for top pros (who all know each other) someone would have called them and said "hey get your ass down here now" JMO

I am actually kind of disappointed. Corey usually plays "lights out". Charlie was still standing afterwards :(

The board said "11am or 1pm"......verbatim. Thorsten had me read it to him last night because he wanted to know his next match time for today, at least that is what it read next to Thorsten's bracket.

I can se how that would be confusing but when in any tourney do you have an option as to when you show up for your match? So some people had their matches start at 11.00 and some matches started at 1.00. If it were me I would have made sure that I know exactly when I was supposed to be there.

If BWhiz would have punched the little turd they would probably have him boxed up by now and ready to plant.

Also for the TD, they need to make that information available to the players and it should be crystal clear. Not one time or another.

Given this as the whole enchilada of info, I'm calling the hall with plenty of time to get there by 11, and hoping to not play until 1.

Seems self-evident to me, but seem to be missing something, so won't jump to conclusions - 'cause it's a recipe for failure!
