i didnt mean to attack his post count until he brought up my creditability or tried to. maybe you should read through some of his posts first :D
Let's play some scrabble. I'll spot you 30 points.:D

I was just trying to save you from some future embarassment if you planned to use that tactic again.
Oh well, I tried.

I think post count counts for something. At the very least it's a indication of how involved someone is in the forum and how faimilar other forum members are with them (ie how much of a stranger are they). Forums aren't too different than any other way of interacting. Regulars can take more liberties than newbies. That holds true for just about everything.

I'm a regular where I shoot. When I want a coke, I walk behind the counter and grab one. I can do this because the owner knows me (ie it's something I've earnt). Now if I was new to his establishment, I'm sure he'd be like what the heck are you doing behind my counter.

I'd probably look at their join date before post count. There are a lot of posters that do the "nice cue, wish i had the money" post a hundred times a month just to get their post count up. I've been around here lurking and posting for close to three years now and have seen many people come and go. Could you tell that from my post count?

No, and that's the problem. You can only take liberties with ppl that know you and are familiar with you. If you don't post no one knows you, and if no one knows you, it's hard to take liberties (becuase the reaction wll be, who the heck is this guy?). Looks like a newbie, smells like a newbie, must be a newbie. It's a perception thing. Having said that, I'm a newbie :)

well said. i feel the same

as for houseman he has alot of greenies for a low post count so i respect his thoughts. i respect everyones thoughts. obv hes said something pertinent somewhere along the line.

however when your cursing, bashing, belittling and breaking every forum rule along the way. that persons words mean little to me and it would take alot more than that to embarrass me.

you both are right. i think looking at greenies is the best. the more respected members give a bigger total of points when rep is given.

it would take 1000 "newbie" reps to get me where 500 "respected member" reps might get me

atleast i think thats how it works:D

So newbies get weight? .. I can live with that ;)

I, and many others, can attest to the fact that Mr Sutton has all of the credibility in the world. He's a real stand-up guy, and there is no reason to attack him even if he disagrees with you on this topic. Let's focus on the issue at hand rather than bash each other.

Though I disagree with the "anti-brianna" posts, I like the fact that this thread was posted to discuss the issue. In the case where clear cut rules don't exist to address a particular situation, it's often peer pressure (like this thread is exerting) that can resolve an issue among adults. So, thank you for posting this thread. As you read, at least one other person was feeling exactly as you were.

I must say that if Brianna187 is a forum sponsor, I feel that changes things. 16 threads all bumped simultaneously is probably excessive, but I think some degree of latitude must be given to a paid sponsor. There is also a down side to posting so many threads. I actually responded to one of those threads stating that I would like to place an order. However, the sponsor had so many threads going that my order request sat there for a couple of days with no response. Once he finally did respond, I was put off by the delay and decided not to place the order.

A little self-restraint on the sponsor's side would help, and I think that is exactly what he is offering. The suggested "dealer" section might also be a solution as well. It might also be nice if the forum software would recognize a sponsor, and keep their posts at the top, but limit the number. That way the sponsors would get the exposure that they are looking (and paying) for while not having to keep bumping their threads, and forum members could choose to view or just skip past the limited number of sponsored posts. Food for thought. :)

I don't mean this as a knock, so please don't take it that way. I am a regular at a couple of places...I also operated a pro-shop in one of them for several years until I retired. Believe me, everyone knows me in these places. Personally, I would NEVER go behind the owner's counter unless he/she asked me to. I respect their area and it is not appropriate for me to do that, IMO.

When I worked the counter I would sometimes ask one of the regulars (trusted) to answer the phone if I was on the other side of the room clearing a stuck ball or something.
I had a lot of friends there so sometimes it was difficult corralling them and keeping them out. If the owner popped in (I worked nights) and saw someone other than me or the change guy behind the counter he'd have a fit. Rightfully so.

Also, I'm not mad at anything or with anyone so I wanted to make that clear.

you need to quit busting daves balls your on my post mr. and as far as the anti brianna crap your messing with the wrong guy here mind your bussiness once and forall

There are a lot of new people here. Some with post counts in over 1000, so that's why I would not focus on pcount. I know who the good guys are only because I've been here and seen the good, bad and the ugly. Most of the good people,(not all) have been here since or prior to 2004. Crappy people don't usually don't stay for long. I look at longevity and of course content first. Greenies are not that bad of a measure I guess. Unless you have ten accounts and "do" yourself all night long. :)

Craig we saw you the other night at the new pool hall. Sorry we didn't stop. I'll catch you soon, I promise. I'm looking forward to hashing over old times.
Your friend, "The Gimp"

Oh, P.S. Congratulations on your new job.

I agree that there are newbs on here that have been on for less then 6 months and have alot of post, alot of post can equal alot of rep.I like to get rep when i help someone out or post something pertinent but i do look at peoples join dates and pertinent post.I have been on for over 2 years as a member and around 3 if you count lurking, this forum is great and i enjoy the contributers to the sight. Its tough to get sponsors for billiards especially sites so i think Briana gets a pass,he has already stated he will post similar items like his cases in one thread so thats cool with me.:)
