Brunswick vs Diamond

Subrail extended with a single shim. The table is together so I can't measure the thickness of the sub rail extension or the shim thickness.

it's true...

I have requests to change Brunswicks to play like Diamonds from all over the country...that means from coast to coast, so I do what I can for who I can as long as it's along my delivery route delivering Diamond tables to customers. I can't fix them all, but I do what I can, when I can.

thanks glen...

If I were to buy a table I would consider what all the tournaments are using and based on that, Diamonds are the wave of the future.

The last world pool championships where played on brunswick metros if im not mistaken and from what ive heard, in the philippines they prefer the metro tournament edition if they can afford it. Go brunswick

What did they play on in the last US Open? How about the year before that? Can you name another major tournament in the last year in this country that Brunswick supplied the tables for? Just wondering how much time you've actually spent playing on Diamond tables:D

Don't mind at all. :) Actually I probably wouldn't have even noticed, but I thought it was a cool avatar so I was staring at it. I had forgotten about posting that picture... then I noticed the wood stain and thought, wow that looks a lot like...? LOL. :D

Good choice for an avatar! ;) :D

Hi,
The diamond tables are made much better, but the first issue is the size. Diamond's are made with a much wider rail two to three inches wider than the Gold Crown's. So a 9 foot Diamond is bigger than the Gold Crown. This can make a big difference in a home.

Hmmmm...there is some truth to what you're saying...but I do believe the Diamond Professionals and the ProAms rails are 7 inches across, whereas the Gold Crowns are 6 inches, so that would only be a 1 inch difference, unless of course you compare them both to the Metro model of Brunswick tables, which has a much wider rail than either of them. BUT...they all three share the same 50 x 100 playing surface if you're talking about 9fts here, and I do believe it's the playing surface that determines the correct size of room a table is going in, when it comes to short spots around the table...not the width of the rails;)

So, was there a second issue?

Friends, some interesting info on the Gold Crown tables:

The Gold Crown is made in Brazil using hardware from
the United States.
The Super Speed and Tru Speed Cushion rubber
is also Brazil.

Brunswick Billiards moved its Gold Crown production to
Brazil about 5 years ago from the United States, when
the model was still the GC IV. And I kid you not! :)
