Mr. cuemaker, I am thinking of purchasing the players specialty cue with the built in butt extension. I would like to know if any of you have any experience with this cue or one similar if they are any. I am concerned there might be some rattle or buzz that can be felt during play because of the metal rod. How does it tighten up when extended. I asked this similar question on cue review but got pics of every external extender ever made, play better position, to putting a sweet potato on the end:D I know this is a niche question because anyone having experience with this cue is remote but its worth a try. Maybe I would be better off buying a cue with out the internal extender and having an extender made to screw in the butt.

I have a extender that I put into my personal cue but it's not a Players cue and I don't know if theirs is the same or not. Mine is solid with no rattles of any kind.

my buddy has a mike webb cue with a extention built in the butt! maybe you should call or pm mike! hope this help's!

I make , what must be OLD FASHIONED pool Q. When people ask for this kind of Q, I tell them to go to the carnival, where they can buy all sorts of gimmick pool Qs. Learn to use the bridge, like I did or go somewhere else. I have no problem with those who either buy those features & incorporate it into a Q, or fashion one from scratch. I am too old to make pool Qs that shoot around corners or some such s..t...JER

I too, just build cues.

If you want the very best extender I ever saw find one of the plastic tubes the Miz used to sell that just slip over the butt of your cue. It's about 2 feet longer and solid. Plus it's cheap.

i have a webb extender and let me tell you it has brought home the cash many of times.if i could get him to make me another id do it in a heartbeat!!solid is all i can say.as for blackheart what a joke!it aint no carny cue. you oughta be ashamed for your post! after reading that i wouldnt even CONSIDER you when it comes to having a cue built, not for lack of ability but but lack of class.use a bridge hah i sliced many a ball for some decent$$$$ could i have done it with a bridge??? absoloutly!! with as much confidence?? doubtful but as i learned some time ago its WORK SMARTER NOT HARDER.hd to get this off my chest mike you dont build no carny cues.

A pool cue is a pool cue. If you need an extender, look down beside the table on a couple of hooks. Pretty simple, eh!

I have a friend who owns this cue. The extention rarely gets used. You unscrew the butt (just below the wrap) pull out about 6" of steel rod and screw it again to tighten it in the extended position. It's pretty cool the way it works, but I personally wouldn't own one. It's a feature that seems to me would be rarely used, especially on a barbox. If you are a league player, the APA for example does not allow cues with mechanical moving parts. They alse don't let you use the cues that have the laser pointer in the tip...;)

Bottom line, it's a novelty, and a better (legal in pool league) option is a slide over the cue extender if you don't like, or don't know how to use a mechanical bridge.

Hope this was helpful.

did you put one in Chris's cue?

No. Chris's butt is 2" longer making the cue 60" overall. He used to play a lot of one-hole and the extra length came in handy. He doesn't want the shafts longer and whippier. When he played Alex, Alex was using a Chinese cue with an extender that screwed into the butt giving extra length when needed so I made an 8" extension. His present cue had a lot of work on the butt collar. 6 Amboyna Burl windows and ivory diamonds but he asked me to extend the wrap back as far as I could as his hand is often back there and he wanted it to feel the same. Doing that kind of broke my heart. A fellow in Texas, who had used that cue while Chris was down there, just ordered one less than an hour ago to be exactly the same as it originally was. All the same dimensions except a Predator Z2 shaft.
