????? Bumps Per Day ?????

How many BUMPS per day are excessive, redundant or even counter productive?

Is it fair to those that are considerate of others ability to expose their items on the "front" page(s) to be relegated to back pages by aggressive sellers who dominate the BUY/SELL/TRADE forum with 3 or 4 (sometimes more) bumps per day?

What type of zoo would we create if we all employed similiar tactics?

Would a fee of $1 per direct or indirect bumps in excess of one per every 24 hours level the field?

Just planting seeds.....

Some of those who were kind enough to post in this thread were non-responsive to the core questions. Your input is valued.

I would suggest one bump per day as a starting point.

I think this is turning into a Bumper Pole forum , everyone has something to sell and can't find any buyers. So why don't some of these Bumpers just take bumps and leave the rest of us alone , I mean that is what grown up's are suppose to do!!!!!!!!!

If you don't understand that every time you bump your deal, you are sending somebody to the back of the line. Either you don't give a rats azz about anybody else's sale or you are just plain thoughtless. Bumping untill I make a decision. What kind of horse chit is that?

I do not like looking at the first page and seeing the same stuff on there for 3 or 4 days, bump it a couple of times and let it go for a while. If it is priced right, it will sell in a day or two or it won't.

I agree with you. I've seen some threads over and over and it gets old after a while. I think you should wait a while to bump an item and maybe you can bump it when the right person is looking and make a sale. I think bumping a cue thread over and over turns some buyers off.
I read a post not long ago that said "It's free and i'm going to keep bumping until I get a buyer" and I think that's taking advantage of the forum. If his item was good quality and priced right he wouldn't have to do that.

I like your idea. Why not delete a thread after you've made a sale instead of posting "Sold" and going back to the first page pushing someone who hasn't found a buyer to the back.

Hmmm... I believe that you can edit your post in a thread (to divulge that a cue is sold) yet doing so won't bump it to the top.... right?

In other words, don't add a post saying "sold"... that'll bump it up... just edit your first post saying "sold"... and many here already do that.

Deleting threads

I am personally against the delete of a FS thread after the goods have sold. I have watched many threads in which the cues and cases has already been sold but I got many information out of it - regarding that particular cue, that cue maker and the price it sold for. I like browsing older threads also... This is my point for not deleting the threads.

This is my sincere and humble opinion, no offense or anything.
