You don't want competition when you're trying to buy something, and one of the stupidest things that I see on a regular basis is someone posting "PM sent" to a for sale post. If you think about it, the seller is going to see your pm, so all you're really doing is increasing the chances that someone else will see the item and out bid you if you're not offering full price.

this is very true, for whatever reason no one ever posts in my threads so it looks like i'm just bumping it for no reason since no one is interested. but usually i have offers waiting but havent gone through yet cuz i havent made a decision.
I do not like looking at the first page and seeing the same stuff on there for 3 or 4 days, bump it a couple of times and let it go for a while. If it is priced right, it will sell in a day or two or it won't.
One thing that is for certain, the level of activity in the Wanted/For Sale forums has increased dramatically over the last couple years. Listings can drop 6-8 pages in only a couple days. If it gets even busier, I wouldn't be surprised to see some anti-bumping rules enforced by the forum software (for example some forums only allow bumping every "X" hours).

what seems to be the problem? theres still offers coming in. perhaps u would care to find out the full situation before commenting on it? i'm looking for money and i'm getting trades or partials so i am bumping it until i reach a decision. i didnt see u complaining when darth was selling his cue and bumped it 50 times. larry has also been trying to sell some cues since july and dale has been trying to sell the blackcreek for a while now too. they created new threads after 10 bumps or so...is that what i should do? i see no difference in bumping it or creating a new thread.

Maybe thats my problem, I need to do the bump...
I try not to bump.. we have a site and everyone knows where it is. So normally I don't engage in the old bumparuski... One time is enough, unless it's a really nice cue, then maybe one or two bumps..

It was actually 34 times over a period of a month, not 50 times. You are just jealous because I own the record.I bumped it once in the am after it was 4-6 pages deep and once in the pm for the night shift, again 4-6 pages in the rear.My persistance paid off as I sold the cue.Danktrees said:
