BUTTERFLY EFFECT CHALLENGE - fullsplice cue for donation

Pretend I am a complete newbie -- well, let's not pretend, LOL -- is there a real difference between the radial pin and the 3/8x10? Thanks.
I’m not a newbie and I asked a similar question. Let me find the link so you dont get lectured about using the search feature. either are a fine choice. The radial is $20 less, so I tossed it in to add to the resource fund. It’s not much but goes further there than here. Shooter08

Thank you very much! I actually did some searches and that thread didn't come up, at least not early in the searches. Thanks again.

Hello Friends!
Finally we have an opportunity to make a finished product. So it is time to process your cues from the challenge!

10 month ago I've promised a cue for every donation from $100. And there was an enormous support from you guys! 72 donations for a short period of time and still coming. All funds were sent to the frontline to help Ukrainian soldiers and volunteers who I know personally. Equipment, medical kits, optics have been bought. Your money has saved health and lives. It is hard to overestimate. I appreciate your support very much.

So it's 72 cues to go. I'll keep my word and every person who participated in the challenge will get a cue in Ukrainian flag colors. Please check your emails and send a response with desired parameters such as weight, length, tip and butt diameters. We'll start the processing, but won't promise any time frame yet. One by one they all will be sent. If you haven't got the email please check "spam" folder or email your parameters to shurikencues@gmail.com

I'd like to make this collection special. A cue with the story, something you could present to your grandchildren in decades. A dense and handy billiards instrument in the first place of course.

Also I'm adding a bit of customization to the challenge. 4 options with an extra cost and benefits.

1) Cue blank. It is free for a person who has participated in the challenge. You pay only $50 for delivery.

2) Cue butt with custom length, weight, balance point, jump/break split, joint type, ringwork, joint and bumper diameters. It costs $150 extra + delivery.

3) Complete cue with a plain black or white shaft. Custom length, weight, balance point, jump/break split, joint type, ringwork, joint and bumper diameters, tip type and diameter, shaft taper. It costs $200 extra + delivery

4) Complete cue with a spliced black or white shaft. Custom length, weight, balance point, jump/break split, joint type, ringwork, joint and bumper diameters, tip type and diameter, shaft taper. It costs $300 extra + delivery

Estimated processing time is 2 month.

Send Benjamin Franklin to the battlefield to protect human rights in 2023 and fight in a hybrid war against authoritarian agressor. Today we have a great opportunity to help Ukrainian Armed Forces MAKING RUSSIA GREAT AGAIN. The more terrorists are being killed today in Ukraine the less terrorist will spread worldwide and exist in the same time period with your children and grandchildren in the future.

Furthermore you'll get a custom fullsplice cue in Ukrainian colors instead.

Butterfly Effect Challenge is still actual.
50/50 for now - a half of money go for materials, a half of money go to actual military requests such as drones, night vision and vehicles. Delivery paid separately when the cue is complete.

To participate in the Challenge all you need to do is sent from $100 to bzhtry@gmail.com Paypal or which is much better to our USDT wallet:

Let me know your email and desired parameters such as weight, length, tip and butt diameters. And you are in.

A few shots of Ukrainian copter billiards novadays:

Also for $30 you can add a cool t-shirt to your cue, all sizes available

Slava Ukraini! God Bless America and everyone who stands with Ukraine in this dark times.

Very nice work, and the options are very nice!

I have to give credit to Lakeman77. His review is what spurred my purchase and he advised me on the additional options he became aware when ordering his first one. You can meet some really great people on AZ, and learn a thing or two, if you listen. Thx, Shooter08

Bear with me on this one. I am throwing this idea out as a possible marketing idea for Anton and an "ordering" idea for the rest of us -- "Shuriken Cues in School Colors". (The idea is not originally mine. One of our members recently wrote that his BC Cue had the bonus benefit to him as it was done in his school colors. West Virginia if I remember right. I searched for the post but could not find it, so someone please "remember" him to me.)

Just think if LSU fans could get a good cue in Purple and Gold, or for Florida fans -- orange and blue. Y'all get the idea. If I owned a pool hall in a college town, I would keep a couple "School Cues" in stock for resale to local fans.

Wrong audience, imo.

Nice idea but perhaps complicated given war, distance, and language.

I looked some more for the West Virginia post, but no luck. So I looked up the school colors -- gold and blue -- so I know I did not make it up.

Thanks for the idea!
Custom requests are my passion. 99.9% of custom requests lead to amazing results.

That's why I've created the thread called "Fullsplice of the day". You all are welcome there. Feel free to post any your ideas of wood and splices combinations. Together we may workout some unique designs. From my side I'm gonna share some possible spliced geometries and appearence of different wood combinations.

I've started from the basic butterfly splice called "Classic". Gonna post an image to that thread.

Also I'm carrying the idea of monetizing and claiming rights for the author of a design. So you can get say 10% from each sale of the model you've invented. And be an owner of a collection. I love AZB, I believe we can realize it here.

Now I'm working on several interesting projects, one of them is a cue in U.S. Air Force colors. Once it is done, I'll show you the result.

Color combinations are like brands for sure.

Just out of curiosity, how accurately can you reproduce colors? Folks can get very particular about whether or not the color is "right". For instance Texas and Oklahoma State both use "orange" but they are definitely not the same hue. (My observations of OSU's team uniforms show its orange can change from year to year and from sport to sport.)

I have also witnessed some knock down drag out tailgating discussions between OSU females as to whose orange was correct and whose was not. It can become a very serious issue under certain circumstances,

GO POKES!!!

If you are going to produce anything that utilizes school colors, it's best to look at the University's Brand Guidelines webpage.

Having said that, the following is a great site for colors for professional teams and colleges. In my experience, they update as the institution or organization changes their colors:

When manufacturing, you'll want to use their standardized color codes to get the perfect match. For the most part, I believe HEX is the most common standardized measurement used. That is expressed as a number sign followed by 6 letters, numbers or a combination. For example, pure White is #ffffff and pure black is #000000.

Below is the University of Texas Burnt Orange color and Oklahoma University's Orange color. But, because of color limitations on the internet, they will appear very differently, as they are, but they won't be a perfect match to the HEX code I show in each box. That's why you use the HEX code in manufacturing and get the correct color match.

So, if they can use standardized codes when creating their dyes for the cues, they can perfectly match any sports team's colors.

Here's the dope on LSU's colors. Hu can tell us, with authority, if cues in such colors would sell in Baton Rouge. But my sense is there is something about the flash of purple and gold that Louisiana boys cannot resist. And, if one had such a thing then . . .

I knew a guy that passed on marrying a beautiful very intelligent girl because it would interfere with his LSU tailgating.

Color match is mostly hit or miss. One piece of wood will dye differently than another.

Have to pick your market, build and price accordingly.

Just a few thoughts.
