Buyer from Indonesia?

Confidence level with Indonesian Paypal and crdit card transactions is 0%.

It is the #1 capital in the world for stolen credit card accounts. Forget the deal completely, reject the money out of your account, because once the real owner of the Paypal account or credit card used for the Paypal finds out he has been victimized, the money will be taken from your account anyway or removed from your bank account on record.

I would send a message to the customer service deparment of Paypal notifying them of this so they at least protect the original guys account and maybe they will follow up with the credit card company the funds are coming out of.

Definitely DO NOT TRANSACT YOUR BANK account INFORMATION FOR BANK WIRE PAYMENT. You already know this is not a legitimate player, why give them more account access information??? They already have too much information about you as it is. They probably got the information they have on the Paypal through Phishing. Don't be another victim.
Yeah, you're right, I'm going to call paypal right now. And I'll tell the guy it's money order or nothing. I don't want to give him my bank account information either.

How the hell do these guys get other people's credit card info anyways? F-ing bastards! Lol.

Send Back the Paypal

Did you get this deal off Ebay or AZ?

If it was off Ebay, you have a Ebay rules, that say you can't except it and must return it.
If you got it off AZ, you moralally have to send it back.

Last point, since it is Paypal, I would also think your paypal agreement with Paypal has rules about cashing a fraudulent payment?

Do your really want to be on the International Fraud List?

IMO, tell him your bank refused the transfer and send the funds it back and list it again.

By contacting people via emial or telephone and requesting they verify their account numbers and pins as a security measure or some other BS. They set up websites that look similar to real Credit card sites and send email to peopl telling them to login to the site and provide their name, password, credit card and 3 digit pin for verifcation. People click and go like zombies feeding their private information to these fraudulent collection sites and whala ! They have your account.

Do not do it. I lost $500 in a deal to Indonesia six years ago. The guy (went by William Amor) used a stolen credit card.

Vince don't even think to proceed further in this deal. Just back off. It smells like a sewage to me. :) Is he from AZ? I think Via is from there (not sure though). If he is, he can definatelly help you. He is a nice guy. A close friend of mine took a PFD in a very smooth transaction.

Alright. Thanks guys for all the feedback. I will definitely not proceed with this deal!

I just listed a cue not long ago on eBay. It didn't meet the reserve so I kept it. About a week later I got an offer on the cue. Guy asked what it would cost to ship to Indonesia and to what Paypal ID he could send the money. I told him that he could send payment but that wanted to make it clear BEFORE I accepted payment that I would only ship to a paypal confirmed address and buyer. I told him that if all was good with that, I'd gladly accept payment and send it. I've heard nothing from him since then. Looks like I dodged one!

Hey guys, I've got a buyer from Indonesia. He just sent me a paypal payment and wants me to send a cue out to him in Indonesia. The name that he wants me to ship to does not match the name on the payment. Is there anything I should be concerned about here? Your help is appreciated!

What's the guy's name?

A great little precaution

To those of you who have Paypal and/or eBay accounts, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND spending the $5 for the Security Key FOB if you haven't done so already. No more worrying about whether someone could have your login information from hacking, or wireless snooping, etc.

I have had one from day one when they became available and now I wish all the all the banks would offer them for online banking security.

It makes it virtually impossible for someone to hack into your Paypal account or eBay even if they know your password. They would have to have your password and your security key in their possession at the time they try to log in. The sweet thing is one key works for both eBay and Paypal once it is registered with them.

Here is the website information for those who want it.

So how would you proceed here?

Don't do it!... Request Western Union Transfer and go pick up your cash before you even think about shipping that cue.

Neat, I didn't realize PayPal had FOBs available. I've been using a FOB to login remotely into work for a number of years now. It's definitely a great added layer of security. The only downside is forgetting it at home and needing to login :) (I've only done that a few dozen time :|)

A Funny Scenario

On another thread their is discussion about a copied auction for BlackBoar cue that an AZ member sold a year ago where his entire auction listing was completely duplicated.

Wouldn't it be funny in a tragic way if some Paypal/credit card fraudster were to bid and win a fake auction by mistake. One bad guy trying to rip off another bad guy. I think that is funny and can imagine it has happened considering the shear volume of fraudulent listings on eBay.

I don't care what you say, that sheet is funny!

Yeah he did. Also I got the other guy's email off the details in the paypal payment and sent him an email asking him if it was indeed him that made the payment. Totally different email from the guy in Indonesia. I'm thinking it's gotta be fraud man. The guy who's card it was has a comcast email, and the guy from Indonesia has an orderyuk.com email?

I predict you will never hear from him again.

LOL well if you watch the news they just had a report on this not to long ago, and the amazing thing was who was doing it, pick a restaurant you go to a lot and I guarantee you they had at least 1 server that was doing this, like I said I was amazed, the servers or bar tenders have a little pocket scanner like what they swipe your credit card threw when you pay, but all they are doing is storing your credit card info on a little flash memory reader, and then they sale the info off, the thing they said to help prevent this from happening to you was, keep your credit card in sight at all times, so don't just give your credit card to the waiter/waitress and let them run off and pay, get off your lazy butt and take your card to the register or take a chance they are stealing your info, and don't have the attitude that this was not happening at the restaurants you eat at, because like I said it was everywhere, I was amazed at the names of places they supplied.

Take care all
Sean

Okay, I issued the refund and told him to send a money order instead.

Just be careful of counterfeit checks and money orders too. Done properly, it takes weeks for them to get returned.
