can the commentators slam the USA more?

At that price, thats all the money I want to put in someone elses pocket.
If you go to the liquor outlet its a bit cheaper to buy a 18 or 24.

When I worked in the Southern USA years ago, I was always amazed at what a 20 would buy at the store. I could easily buy a carton of Marlboros, a six and munchies for the evening.

Aren't you forgetting Justin Beaver?
Nickelback is from Eastern Canada. I live in the middle of it all.
We aren't responsible for that part of Canada.
They don't know we are out here.

Trade ya Quebec for Puerto Rico tho.

Nickelback is from Alberta.... although they claimed Vancouver when playing the grey cup halftime show in B.C. Any other country that wants to claim them as there own is MORE than welcome!

My mistake. I guess I wanted them to be further away from me so I was imagining they were from the east.

Jim is a very nice guy to talk to, but I can't stand to hear his commentary!! He's always been more partial to the European side. I guess it's the Canadian in him!

I hadn't heard much of his commentary until I went to this years' Open. My seat was a few rows down from the booth and you could hear every word he said. The players on the floor could hear him too, it was obvious. I know Earl complained at least once. I'd hate to be around the guy if he was on his cell phone! I met a Canadian named Jeff {can't remember his last name} who arrived Wednesday same as I did and he said he thought JW was the best commentator. Jeff sat next to me when that seat was open and I know he thought JW was loud, also.

Dogs, how do you know about the Warriors?
Moose Jaw is 45 miles away. Small world sometimes.
Thats where the Snow Birds are stationed too.

You guys miss Earl yet? Not having our best players on the team just blows. This is a setup by Matchroom -- not allowing Earl on.

For everyone who said they wouldn't play if Earl played --- I could pick another player who didn't play this week who's prob playing way better than them.

Our team is playing like a dog with slugs hanging off it. It's a joke. Team Korea is prob losing it for us on purpose.

Corey, Hatch, Earl, Shane, Stevie would have outperformed this team by a mile---- and Corey's not even playing.

EARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRL

Yea, its not going great, but friggin Jim Wyche (sp) keeps slammming the cue technique of the USA players! He is seriously nut hanging on the Euros. He basically just said the Euros stroke is better then ours and they have more "above the shoulders" then we do? WTF dude.....shut up!

rant over.....go USA!

G.

Havent watched any of the MC but listening to JW gets old after a while. If he knows so much im sure any of the players on the U.S. team would match up with him and he could stroke himself all he wanted..... The only other worse one to listen to is the guy who screams before and after every shot, he sounds like someone just smashed his foot with a hammer right before he calls a shot.

Earl is driving around outside waiting on the Euro team to come out....

Actually, its more of his lack of experience and his lack of having thee connsumate ability to put the entire production into perspective, kinda like the Ryder Cup. There are two teams, right?

He needs to understand, his ability to professionally ''realize'' his spot amongst this elite group is to report not ''retort''. Pool is yet to have a GREAT non color announcer in rotation pool. Rotation pools agressive nature requires a Wiley individual, with perspective and Zero preference of outcome.

When American sponsors start putting up major $$$ with the Mosconi cup and it streams on American TV only then you'll hear commentators giving neutral commentating. Until then what else do you expect?

Everything is paid for by matchroom and sky sports....hence the euro decor on the carpet.

On a side note... Putnam played as horribly as Morris played on the first day!!! All the hard work on day 2 to bring the cup close was wasted today by poor playing from team u.s.a.

Last but very not least...

It is refreshing to see SVB show emotion after a match regardless of the team score.

I'm European (well, sort of… LOL!), and love watching the long smooth stroke of e.g. a Shane Van Boening or Chris Melling (= I admire great cueing action regardless of which continent a player is from). Seems to me Jim Wych is mainly referring to the straightness of the delivery most of the time, however, as well as players' staying down after the shot - he's a former Snooker pro, after all. You'll notice some of the Mosconi team members on either side are cueing straight as an arrow albeit with per se less attractive cueing action, and yes, and that there are ones (I'll leave it to astute observers to figure out who - no interest in a dogfight) whose cueing action tends to be surprisingly jerky/punchy and not too straight given the results they get as long as everything is going their way. Pointing out this all because I agree in principle that flawless cueing action helps steady one's nerves, or at least vouches for pocketing a higher percentage of shots even when e.g. one's feel for speed is off. Just my two cents worth…

Greetings from Switzerland, David.
