Career Advice for being a Pro Pool Player

You got a problem with me personally because of something here that's fine, air it out. Saying that TAR screws people over is bullsh!t. I have worked my ass off to build a good reputation and taken the shitty end of a lot of deals in order to make sure no one could say I did them wrong. I dont always get it right and I screw up my fair share but I have never cheated anyone out of anything or intentionally screwed someone over even when I had damn good reason to. You got a problem state it or just leave us alone.

There isnt much that I take very seriously but my reputation is one and if you or anyone else is going to try and smear it then you better be ready to stand behind what you say and to come with something better than double talk and innuendo. If screw something up I'll own up to it and do my best to make it right but having to fade endless snide comments and veiled accusations about something I have absolutely no clue about is something I'm done doing.

I am not threatening you or anybody else. You have written things now, though, that are not quite right, but I ain't going to debate them on this public forum, JCIN. I will continue to post my thoughts on topics that I have opinions on. You throw curse words around in your posts and make accusations about me now, but that's okay. Practice what you preach.

YOU have written a lot of things that are not right and I will debate them on this public forum. The same public forum they were made in.

Just so we are clear on this: You will make snide comments and accusations over and over again in public but when you are called on it you will not stand behind your words and will immediately play the victim role.

And you may be able to do a lot of things but making me feel threatened isn't one of them.

Yea, you prefer to act like everyone threatens you. You act like a 4th grader every chance you get. Your remark about TAR was a personal attack that you knew Justin would see and react to. You always start shit then act like people pick on you. I would say grow up but you're old enough to know you act like a baby. Now bust out your kieth account and try n gain people's support but please, please, please never forget, the only reason ANYONE on here likes you is because of your man. Your a bad person and treat people with zero respect. Now cry and run away.

I realize you're a TAR minion and I'm not a member of the TAR clique, but I think JCIN can handle his own colloquy with me in an area that doesn't concern you. This isn't a me-versus-them kind of scenario.

I'm not a bad person, and I treat people with a ton of respect if they're deserving of it.

gotta agree with justin on this one. if this is a poke at TAR and or Justin, done out in the open like this, how can you really jusify not talking about it and not giving him the opportunity address it by saying it shouldnt be talked about in public?

And what makes you think my remark was about TAR? I've had several bum deals in the last 10 years as it pertains to pool. I've also had some pleasurable transactions. I've been paid for some of my efforts, and I've also been ripped off.
 
To bring it back on topic, career advice for being a pro pool player? Develop a good record-keeping system. Keep receipts for every single expense, including things as minute as toll receipts. Food, travel, lodging, entry fees are tax writeoffs. When it comes to tax time, it is helpful to have written proof of expenses to counteract any tournament winnings or profit. :smile:

If it can be worked out let's talk about it like adults. I hope I don't piss anyone off by saying anything. It's just that I really like Keith (he tried to hit on my sister, ended up talking to me and spilled the beans) the one time I met him and I'm sure Jam is a good girl if Keith says so. Justin seems like a very mature, reasonable person from reading his posts. I'm sure you both can find it in yourself to find a solution.

TAR minion? That's an interesting word for "friend". See, I'm not putting myself in the middle or either side, simply calling you a bad person. You're looking for a fight. You do this all the time. Start a flight, get hurt and run away from az for a while. Then come back and act like nothing happeened. That's your MO. You must be a real peach to live with. So you started slinging mud, why don't you finish it??? Oh yea, cause you're wrong and you don't want everyone to know. So keep crying and run along on your AZ vacation.

and appearantly justin felt it was pointed at him and called you on it.
I didnt see you respond saying " No justin this wasnt about you..."
you responded saying you wouldnt discuss it on a public forum.

thats what makes me think its about TAR.

I also didn't know it was about TAR, until TAR responded, then she responded, and it went back and forth clearly showing she DOES have issues with TAR, although apparently she won't say what they are.

By the way, in my previous paragraph, I wrote "she". I hope nobody assumes that "she" refers to JAM? There have been numerous threads between TAR and female posters before. LOL...

Without wanting to get in the middle of this, I will say that if you live by the sword, you die by the sword.

If you take a shot, here, you should answer the shot, here.

Not too long ago I got an "apology" from a well known poster here about some of the ca-ca he'd been posting, here. In a nutshell, I told him if he had any cojones at all he would apologize to me in public, not in a private email. Of course he never did that.

Soooooo, IMO, if you take a shot here -- veiled or not -- and are called on it, you should answer said shot here, or at least make it clear that that's not what you meant.

Best advice, "Pool is an industry not a professional sport". You want to make pool a career find your niche in the industry. That does not mean you no longer are a player, just look at John Schmidt or Grady.
 
Years ago a famous race car owner/driver was asked for advice on how to make a small fortune at racing. He said the secret is to start with a large one.

I think that can be applied to pool.
