Other than the obvious, "get a cover" are there any other ways to keep the cat off the cloth?
Will cats try to sharpen their claws on the table's cloth and rails?
Thanks

If anyone wants to spot my cat the cue and the cue ball, you got action. The gaff is...the game gets put on hold when he gets bored. When he feels like playing again, game on. I'll send'm in.

manwon said:I suppose it depends how well trained your cats are. I own a pool hall and I have a pool hall cat that lives there all the time. I have no problem with her getting on the tables and she is still a kitten (4 1/2 Months old). I have had her for around 1 1/2 months and I have trained her to stay off my tables. She will also come to me when her name is called, and she will sit most times when told to. I know she sounds like a dog, but she is one smart Cat. Now I have never owned a Cat before, so I don't know how smart they are suppose to be.
Hope this helps.

Yes my friends dog has chewed the claw legs on his table. Chewed most of the fringes off the drop pockets. Chewed one of the side pockets to drop the measel cue ball and scared it up. Got the 6 & 9 out another time gnawed on the 6 and must have burried the 9 we never found it. Centenials   :angry:bnall said:Get rid of the cat and get a dog. Dogs make better pets anyways.

Buy several scratching posts and offer them up as alternatives. Cats love to scratch sissel line wrapped posts. There are also cardboard blocks that are infused with catnip. They scratch em up and get mello.
If the cat ever shows an interest to scratch the table legs, apply tape to the legs. Reverse the tape so the sticky side is out and wrap all the legs. One or two experiences where the tape sticks to the animals feet and it will learn to stay away. I taught my cats to leave my stereo speaker covers alone in this way. The tape can be removed after a day or so.
Lastly, have adequate litter box space and keep the box clean daily. The cat will not urinate on the table if it is spayed/neutered and has a clean litter box alternative.
