Celebrities and Pool

Ha, if you are really the Joe Rogan, it is not the first time you have been mentioned. When he (you?) was on that celeb billiards show, there was some talk about you (him?) being a B player on the tri state tour...?

Yeah, it's really me. Robb Saez is a buddy of mine from way back and he told me about this place.
B player is pushing it. At my best I was a high C :) I just started playing again recently.
It's nice to have the "bug" again.

Well in that case, if your ever in Atlanta and you want to play for a little $, let me know...;)

I'm gonna be in Atlanta July 13,14 and 15 doing stand up comedy at the punchline. My opening act and I are always looking for a place to play after the shows. Any recommendations?

Mr.Cues, which is about 15 minutes from midtown and a pretty big action room. There is a woman's tournament going on that weekend (so I will be there Sat & sun)...Friday nights, they have a C level 9 ball tournament, it starts at 8pm, $20 entry, double/elimination. Goes pretty late...
For more casual but good late night play, in midtown, there is The Independent, it is more bar like but with 9 foot tables, not great but decent.
Also, I hear Northside Tavern is good for a little bar table action; but I have never been.

There is video of Will Smith playing on a game show of some kind. It was actually posted here before.

Mark Kendall, lead guitarist for the rock band Great White. He played in a weekly tourney while the band was here in Grand Rapids, some where around 1996. As i recall he played weak 7 APA speed and finished in the $$.

Here is some pics of Joe sweating the action at The UPA Tour Championships in LA. I heard him say there he was a buddy of Rob Saez and came to watch him play.

Mr. Rogan has own forum that is pretty interesting.

If for some strange reason you are down in Corpus Christi, TX I wouldn't mind shooting a few with ya!

Welcome back to the obsession or is it insanity - either way, enjoy the site and game.

Oooh, I've been outed :)

Hey Joe, so were you the mastermind behind that one Fear Factor, where the contestants had to play a game of pool to see who would eat the 100-year old egg and other nasty stuff? LOL. I hope they let you keep those custom balls you guys used. Haha.

No, I had nothing to do with that fear factor stunt.
It was fun to have a table around the set for a day though :)

Thanks a lot guys, this is a great forum. I've been lurking here for a couple weeks. Nice to finally post.

thanks....

I saw Joe hit a few the other night. He gets down on the ball good. Good fundamentals. Like so many of us here, he just needs more time on the tables. I suspect his plate is full with other matters though.

Joe, my advice (even though you didn't ask) is try to hit balls for an hour or so each day at home. You would be surprised how much difference it would make in your game. And when you have an off day, try to put in a long session. I mean 6-8 hours with a good sparring partner.

I know you are friends with Max Eberle, and he is a great guy, but he may not be the best sparring partner for you. You need to play someone closer to your speed. And there are lots of guys like that at HB. I live a ways from there in the Redondo Beach area, but I would come up that way from time to time to hit some with you.

Nice to see you anyway.

What about The Pool Room that Kim and Johnny just took ownership on? I heard that is a very nice place as well. Is it close to downtown?
