Advance tickets on sale now!
Special Announcement to all AZB Members and anonymous lurkers
Please be advised that tickets are now on sale for the Central Florida Grudge Match--Walt " Evil Clyde" Frazier vs. Russ "Short Bus" Chewning, currently scheduled for May 27, 2009 (exactly two years to the day after the now famous challenge was issued. The Short Bus has specifically requested this delay in order to hit another million balls. The purse, which will be separate from any sidebets, has not yet been made public, pending the final calculations of two year's pay, plus interest and minus the aggregate cost for two months worth of ham and eggs (to make sure the loser can at least eat for a while after the match), for communications contractors employed in Iraq.
Sources have it that Mr. Chewning is in the midst of negotiations with the Iraqi government which has tentatively offered, in gratitude for his single-handed reconstruction of the country, to cover all sidebets, which according to industry analysts, will exceed nine figures, all of which is solidly behind "Evil Clyde". Those sources say that negotiations are currently stalled on the issue of whether Russ's share of the potential winnings will be 5% or 2%. An unnamed Iraqi official is said to have stated that given the Short Bus' chances of victory, the government considers the offer of two cents on the dollar to be extremely generous, and is only being made because the laughter generated by the match may heal the soul of the country and is worth the financial loss.
We are also pleased to announce that in the interest of promoting grudge matches as the salvation of the sport, Williebetmore and Breakup have graciously offered to donate an additional 200,000 jellybeans to the purse. However, Williebetmore has cautioned that Breakup's 50% of the added beans, when counted, will prove to be no more than 99,700. When contacted for response, Breakup suggested that WBM is only using the contribution as a ploy to slither within grabbing distance of the money posted on the light.
Due to anticipated demand, tickets will be posted on sale for 1 gazillion dollars apiece, but the promoters have privately admitted that they are prepared to bargain down--to as low as two cents on the dollar.
Any inquiries as to further details may be posted on this thread.
