mnorwood, You're absolutely right that Russ's signature and avatar is extremely offensive. However, I hope you'll reconsider your decision to leave this forum due to Russ's crassy behavior.

IMO, you should complain to the moderators when someone like Russ crosses the line as he did here. I just submitted my complaint to the moderators on this and I hope others will do the same.

You obviously that you do not know what to take seriously Russ. The use of the word "retard" along with the picture is offensive, just to make it clear to you. Hopefully you understand, although I'm not sure you are capable of much understanding from what I've read around here.

On a more serious note, russ, grow up and change the avatar. Just because you have been outed as the poser you are, doesn't mean you have to lash out at the community at large and try to be as shocking and as offensive as you can possibly be.

First off I hope you decide to stick around and I think it is amazing that you are dedicating your "real life" to helping those children that most need it:)

Now onto Russ avatar....I think he should keep it. In our society there is an exemption of sorts for people of a certain group that makes it ok for the members of the group to make jokes about their group. For example fat guys like me can tell fat jokes,people of color can tell jokes about their group, persons of a particular religious faith can make fun of their faith etc. This makes it "ok" in my book if Russ wants to make fun of "retards" as he calls them. See what I mean?;):D

DM, Making fun of someone's handicap is not ok, any more than making fun of someone's weight, race, religion, or gender.

Sheeehawt.. I might even use "short bus Russ" as my pool nickname. My nickname on every forum I've decided to not use my name on has been "Pogue". It is a derogatory term for a non front line guy in the Army. I picked that one myself. Fortunately, I was blessed with the ability to not give two s**ts what other people think. Thank goodness, that has saved me from years of American Idol.

Heh heh... I'm loving it... With this new nick name, Smorg gave me the perfect opportunity here... "Short Bus Russ" would be one of the more interesting names in the pool world. Seriously, I think I'm gonna keep it... AND the avatar.... :D :D :D

Personally, I feel that calling yourself a "pogue" is still being a tad generous....

I think "REMF" would be a bit more fitting...
