Championship Tour Edition vs Simonis

I would like to have your opinion on Championship Tour Edition vs Simonis
Which is better in your opinion and why? And how easy is either one to install? And why?

It has always been my considered opinion, and still is, that Simonis 860 is the superior cloth to have on any size table to play on.
I've played on Simonis on a 7' table in a bar that they told me it had been on the table for over 2 years. This was a Valley table.
It was as fast as if it was new, a little worn and faded, but you could shoot with confidence that if the cue ball rolled too far or not far enough, it was your fault not the cloth.
I talked to a person today that said they liked Championship Tour edition better than Simonis and said they had recovered a few tables as a favor and found it easier to install.
The cue ball rolled better and was as good if not better than Simonis.
Could this be true? Has the rest of the cloth world caught up to Simonis?

Thank you I appreciate you taking time to give your opinion.

This very subject has been discussed several times here on AZ already;) check out some of past threads and you'll see for yourself.

Am I to assume that since you feel it's been discussed that's all that should be said about it? Or am I speaking to someone who tells everyone what to say, when to say it, or how to say it, or not to say it? I merely asked a question. If you choose not to comment or leave a link so be it.

There is no comparison in my opinion. Play on both, it is easy Championship cloth is more affected by the climate, humidity, air pressure in response to the rolls of the balls to the surface.

Simonis is fast, fast, fast. It is obvious i prefer Simonis 860 green or blue.
You can nail down your stroke on tables with this cloth more so than on a table with Champion cloth. Plus I believe MORE people but Simonis on their tables at home. Championship cloth is cheaper and therefore used more often by room owners. IMO:p:p:p:p

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Like to introduce myself, I am Hudson Smith. I live in Livingston, Montana but I am originally from Socal, LA, born and raised in Hemet, CA.
I've been reading AZB for a long time and agree and disagree at any given time with the different posts. I also miss the night life of LA, the beaches but most especially the women. I also miss availability of being able to hustle a few dollars playing 9 ball at a local bar or pool room. Don't get me wrong, I've lost as much as I've won - well maybe more.
I decided finally to join the forum because I would like to contribute and put my 2 cents in. Looking forward to being a part of AZB.

According to your own first post...how could you have missed all the other posts on Championship cloth vs Simonis?

Hudson, Glen aka realkingcobra just pointed out that you could find what you want to know if you care to use Search function. Here are the threads you might want to look through in order to have an answer, but you have to decide yourself based on what is written there. I remember Simonis and Mikkilen mentioned there so I just searched by these two key words (one could use Simonis Championship) and picked relevant threads from the short list. I hope you take time to do that yourself next time :

The guy was trying to help you. Did you not get it? We just discussed this in depth no less then 30 days ago which probably can not be duplicated with so many replies it had. So the best response was use the search function.

Depends who instaled each cloth. Either one can play like $hit if it was not installed right. They are both fast. Johnnyt

You don't compare Tour Ed with 860 - you compare it with 760 as they are both 70/30 blend cloths.
Tour Ed and 760 are both faster than 860 - thus more/faster ball roll.

Tour Ed can be considered easier to install because it has more stretch then Simonis and the Tour Ed stretch will vary
depending on the mill run when the bolt was made. You won't find this inconsistency with Simonis so you can conclude
that Simonis has better quality control.

This is not to say Tour Ed is a bad cloth. Consider that Tour Ed is "made for Championship" while Simonis operates their
own mill and has complete control over quality and consistency.

I want to thank Vahmurka for linking me up. I did not know that there was previous threads here on AZB.
Glen, I have not been registered on this site with a previous handle and I don't know of all the nuances that this site has as a member. This I am learning. If I was rude it was only because I thought you were. With that being said, I apologize. I shouldn't of let the bad day that I had effect the way I say something. The last time I checked I was human but I wonder if I am sometimes. So bear with me as I learn the different things as a member over what I learned as a spectator.

Nice post. I agree.....SPF=randyg
Pool School uses Simonis Cloth because it's the best.

I had 760 on my table previously, and Tour Edition 3030 on now. The Tour Edition has more "grain" to it IMO. Also, hard to compare because I changed colors from the green (760) to camel (T.E.) but the 760 seemed to show spots on the playing field more easily in the form of 'burn marks' (white spots), and the camel color shows all other spots much easier.... just an FYI for those considering it as a choice for their home table.

Feel free to pm me with any other questions about it if you like.
