I don't know the best place to buy, maybe seyberts or joe rackem but I wanted to warn you when hunting "cheap." I saw a knock off awhile back for I think nine dollars. I doubt you can buy the real deal under twenty dollars. They were about thirty dollars when I bought mine, I think the cheapest was twenty-seven dollars.

Yeah, Joerackem is top notch. I have purchased many things from him over the years. I just ordered a cue for my son from him and it was at my door withing 48 hours :)

And yeah, be careful what ball you buy. Back when they came out there were at least three that I know of. One was fake and I think it could be identified by its whiteness. It stayed bright white where original Arimath balls turn kind of yellow. Another was a regular arimath ball that was painted and turned again making it a bit bigger and a bit heavier (thats the one I ended up with) which was a cheap and quick way for Arimath to meet demand. And the third was out of a full set that was the correct weight and dimension. Thats the one you want.

Firstly, why do you want it? Cuz they use it in the big tournaments? Cuz you can see what spin you put on the cue ball?

Both reasons are pointless.

Cheapest? How long do you think it will last? 5 yr.?, 10 yr.?, 20 yr.?
Even if it costs $50 it works out to at most $10/yr. Negligible expense.

YMMV for what its worth I bought my aramith tv cue ball from Joe Nielson.
On ebay some sellers appear to be cheaper, but didn't have the packaging or outrageous s&h. One seller quietly pulled his auction after I ask a simple question, who is the maker?

I have a habit of putting unintentional inside english. On a six foot straight in shot, if I stroke slow enough I can clearly see the dots on the ball turn sideways then straighten out.

Joe Nielson is Joe Rackem. That is a good price and a good guy to deal with when I bought something from him a few times.

Wholesale cost on those balls is approximately $20, now I have seen some nits selling them on Ebay for $25. That might be the cheapest place to buy one of these balls, but you had better be careful, there are a couple of different Asian Import Balls that people are selling there. They are just like all the Non-Aramith balls, they will leave major burn marks on you cloth, and they do not even weight the correct amount.

If I were you I would spend $29 or $30 and buy the ball from a reputable dealer, like Mueller or others, that way you will get what you are paying for and nothing in your back side!!!!

I bought mine from Joe. The problem is that shipping cost so much on them. It is well worth having. It is also worth buying a set of the super arimith balls to go with it

i think i am going to pick one up from my pool hall.

the owner has them and then i can support his business also.

I think that is the best thing you can do, my hat is off to you!!!!!!!! Woop's I'm bald!!! Well maybe my hat isn't off to you, but you have my respect anyway!!!!!!!:)

thank you it was a little more but i like supporting them plus its nice when they will trust u make payments on cues and cases.

i have now bought 3 cues 1 case and a cue ball from them.

and i would hate to see them close because the kim steele tables and our bar tables are all done in simonis 860 and everyone loves them.

I would be careful if looking to buy one on Ebay, A friend of mine got on there and it wasnt a real Measels ball.

It was some copycat one that was the wrong size and weight and was discolored . Even the Measels looked bad.

Good Luck
Steve

I have one for 25 shipped if anyone is interested. Never been hit. It's out of the package. Let me know if anyone is interested.

I applaud your decision to support your local pool hall.

Kudos to you JoeB and to Nielson for putting the DETAILED information about the authenticity of their Measel Ball that is on sale for LESS THAN TWENTY DOLLARS.

The picture he took makes the red dots (measels) look a little pink and therefore suspect as an original measel ball. Nielson goes on to elaborate that this is in an Aramith Blister pack and is just like the original that you see on TV. Probably just a poor picture or my monitor.

I wouldn't mind having a new set of balls with a measel ball as the cue ball.
I love the Centennials but you don't see many tournaments being played with Centennials any more.

MOST the measle balls on Ebay were fake for a long time. Aramith decided NOT to offer them individually when the new sets came out because it hurt sales. They would only sell the entire set so people would have to buy more that just the ball. People would buy the set and sell the measles out of it for up to $100. When China saw this they started making knockoffs for $50 and sold the hell out of them. Then of course Aramith reversed their decision and started selling them individually. For a long time the vast majority of those balls on Ebay were really bad fake ones. Very light in weight. Some even had the red PAINTED on them. I have seen a ton from disgruntled customers trying to sell me their fakes ones. Cannot believe people go that far to keep from buying something that has a $35 retail on it now. :banghead:

How much money can people REALLY save? And is it really worth that much of their time????

FWIW, I've got an authentic Measles cue ball and if you weren't aware, it's very obvious that the phenolic resin that Aramith (Saluc) uses on the Measles cue ball is NOT the same as they use on the Super Aramith Pro Set of balls and the accompanying Aramith red logo (or the red circle) cue ball... and therefore, the Measles cue ball does not play like the cue balls that I listed above... again, fwiw.
