Check out my new pool room!

Gerry,
Almost as good as my design! You could still slide a few bikes under the table and scatter a few boxes around the place for that authentic look :D

No way Colin, No useless junk in the billiard room. My wife had to beg me not to throw the washer + dryer in the back yard:)

You guys are right, the project went quickly, but I've been contracting for 20 years so I had a little practice.

The table went together nicely. It does'nt have the slate levelers like the GCIV, but there are 2 screws in the center of each slate, and I leveled them with maybe a total of 8 playing cards. The pockets fit flush like a GCIV and I swear they used the same hardware without Brunswicks logo. The subframe and legs are identical to a GC, except the levelers are'nt casters like the GCIV. They spin to level the table, but you have to take the weight off to do it. The aprons and finish hardware were also identical to a GC. So in my estimation it's about a 95% match between a GCIII and a GCIV. Now, I need to design a ball return and find a ball polisher........later

Well shucks ...

You're already done.... lol I was going to recommend putting in a commercial wool carpeting. It wears extremely well, vaccums easy, and is warm for those barefoot players ... lol

Room and table looks great man, you put a lot of time and effort into that. Congratulations!!!

Good question!.....Maybe I should start a Johnson city type of thing :D. The wife and I love to cook, so we'll fatten everyone up, and then have an all nighter tourny action thing......You never know...

That's just what we used snap. It's a grey mixed color, so you can't see any dirt, and we got a good price.....$4.75 a yard...and we put it down ourselves

Gerry,
I think it is clear you have impressed the heck out of most of us. That is incredible work, incredibly quickly. Enjoy.

P.S. - Half of all posters reading this thread have already checked Mapquest to see where in the hell Ormond Beach is (we ALL plan to stop by on our way to Miami).

Thanks Willie! My new dream is to one day have a room big enough for a pool table AND a billiard table, but I think I'm pushing things and I'm Just gonna be happy with what I've got!

just north of Daytona beach BTW;).....

You planning on setting up a video camera to film yourself when you are shooting?

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Houseman, we got a spare bedroom for you, you know that!, but I'd probably find you on the table;) We took delivery at 12:30 yesterday, and after what seemed like a short time, we were rolling balls around by 8:30! We had the table company do the Simonis on the rails for us, and we did the rest. My only beef is 1 of the rails took a shot in shipping, not real bad, but you know how it is. Also there were NO DIRECTIONS!? so we called Boston tables and they said, "uh there are no directions, we suggest you get a professional to install!!!!" SCREW THAT, I was gonna get Waldo's to do it, but I got all impatient and HAD to get the project rolling. Sorry Jimmy.

The only thing I could have used is a bolt and nut schedule, but it was really quite easy. I was lucky enough to have done a dozen or so of these (Crowns) before at the Housemans room, so it went together very nicely.

I'm waiting on the Sardo rack, and the new cloth is playing fast, but a little "new Simonis like" you all know what I mean. The corner pockets are about an 1/8" over 2 ball width, so when the cloth breaks in, it should be a perfect practice table. The side pockets are surprisingly snug!

All in all, a GREAT 2 week project from start to finish. Here's some pics. Not sure how it looks on the pics, but there are no "short cue" shots anywhere, and the only thing my foot hits is the dryer a little bit, and it's days are numbered! I'm going to hit some balls, anyone wanna gimme 75 to 150?......:D

Gerry
Gerry that is a very nice table. Glad to see you get what you wanted.

That’s really cool! Thanks for the in progress photos also, it’s fun to see the stages of it all coming together.

Very Snappy

Gerry -- I'm in the process of assembling a game room. Your thread was helpful, and inspiring, so thanks. Hope to document my room as it comes together in a few weeks, just as you've done here. Have fun!

yes, i was embarrassed and tried to expunge the whole thing, but i'm technically ignorant.

did I mention my room will include HDTV and dancing girls? Oh well.

Sorry for the mix up everyone! I linked an old thread of mine to try to help out an AZ'r that was having authentication issues with his table. Thanx again for the nice words about our Florida house pool room! We still own it and were trying to figure out if we are gonna stay in PA or move back down South..........AGAIN!

I'm glad our room inspired some of you to go it on your own. We finished our room in under 3 weeks, and about $4k including the table, but don't forget I'm a Contractor by trade, so it was a little easier for me :D

yea, it was fun seeing that old thread again!
