Chris and Tony playing today

I suspect Chris had to play his best pool to win this match. Tony is not going to get weak or dog it.
 
Like I said and was called a yahoo by Russ---the first time that Chohan beat Bartrum was a fluke. If he won 2 out of 10 sets, he would be beating the spread.

Donny-that is what I tried to tell people in a previous thread. I wish it was easy to gamble over the internet.
 
What kind of job did chris get down there in texas that allows him to play so much pool? I need to get into that field!
 
I agree...I saw him run through Tony at DCC a few years ago for 6K in an ahead 9-ball set. I watched for nearly an hour and Chris didn't miss a ball. I like Tony's game, especially 1-p. The Bartrum I saw had tremedous focus, concentration. and determination.

Hi Martin;

Right on, I watched also. I put up part of the cash for Tony. He didn't have a chance the way Chris was playing. Since both have been in action since then, I expect they are both playing better.
 
Guys, I have followed this game all week and what I was told was the level of play was not good, a lot of missed balls, my buddy had a large bet and had to leave, it was too ugly he said, could not stand it. I am not knocking either of these players, they just did not bring their "A" game. If one of these players had been playing their best game, it would have been over in a day.

So who do you think wins if they're both "on"? It would be no contest (probably too strong a term, but you get the point) in one pocket right?
 
I doubt Chris can hang with Tony in one pocket. So yeah I don't think it would be much of a contest. Not that Chris does'nt play good its just Tony is in another league. Gotta go with Tony on that one.
 
I didn't watch this match as much as some, but I logged enough hours to come to a few conclusions. When Tony would slip into high gear, his general play, the action of the cue ball, his position, and the way the balls hit the back of the pockets puts Tony's stroke in a league of it's own. He wasn't able to sustain that level long enough however. Tony would shine for a few games. Remember, they played for 4 days! By the end, Tony looked very tired, and I'm sure he was.

Chris is a total bulldog. His play was very consistent. There were times when he would reach high gear as well, but in general he played a very steady match. He dogged very few balls in 4 days. He can't kick like Tony, but he seemed to play most of the aggressive safetys.

At the end of the match, when Chris ran out the game to get 11 ahead, he seemed as confident as a player can get. Smelling victory I suppose, to win the match he broke and ran out a perfect pattern, without touching another ball after the break except the object balls, with one exception. When he was shooting the 6 ball, he needed to move the 10 ball to get good shape on the 7 and a good angle on the 8. He played 3 rail position and gently bumped the 10 ball out of the way, about 6 inches, got perfect on the 7 and ran out. One old timer said that it was the best position shot for the cheese that he'd ever seen. Everyone clapped and it was over.

I still like Chris playing 9-Ball, but that is a closer match than Chris playing Tony One Pocket. T-Rex shines in that game.
 
Me and Tony did play rough because of the table. When ten ball don't break good it makes good players look bad but we definitely didn't play our best...

By the way he tortured me giving me 9-7 playing one pocket alittle while back...
