CJ leads US Mosconi challenge

... Going into to the European's Home Court and winning in London England will be a huge challenge for the USA Team. We will be prepared and ready to take our "A" Game into Battle!
...
Congratulations on your selection, which I think improves our chances. I hope everyone in the US who can goes over to support the team. It's a great event at York Hall -- far more intense than in Las Vegas. And, it's not a bad time of year to see London as a tourist.

There's a much different mind set and attitude required.

I agree, but you need a FULL team. The chain is only as strong as it's least strong link. It may very well all ride on the least strong & he has to be strong enough to deliver... Victory! He has to be a 'Champon' at Heart. May you chose well.

With all my hope,

Thanks Brotha...I want to create Synergy in this years team and I really like the dynamic of the players I "think" are going to be in it. They have the opportunity to really shine and I want to get the World's attention on this Event.

The TV entertainment value of the Mosconi Cup is 2nd to none and very positive for the overall image of how energetic a Pocket Billiard SHOW can be. And my last Mosconi Cup was in England, I know how "wild" their fans can and will be. This can be used to our advantage very effectively with preparation. You can't just prepare for something like this like it's a "normal" event. There's a much different mind set and attitude required.

want to make sure it doesn't get "short changed" with all the other priorities

Congratulations. They made a great choice selecting you as Mosconi captain. Still counting down for the Million dollar nine ball challenge video release!!

We're working towards completing it, and it's still a month out. I was juggling my new instuctional DVD (which is in post production now), the Earl Strickland Million $ Documentary and getting a location for a new pool room.

Then a few days ago I was contacted about the Mosconi Cup and now things are really getting interesting. It's going to be a test for my time management skills, and now they want me to go to the US OPEN....hmmm, something's going to have to give.

Oh, well, it's better than being bored that's for sure. I will get this documentary done though, just want to make sure it doesn't get "short changed" with all the other priorities mounting up.

JumpinJoe...Evidence please. The last time CJ competed a professional event in was.....? He's given lessons to who?...when? Again no disrespect to CJ, but he's been 'out of the loop' for quite a while (he says this himself). Tony isn't...and who's to say he doesn't have the same skill level as CJ? Just because Tony has done it without being a hustler and gambler doesn't mean he doesn't play at a very high pro level.

Once again, since CJ has been chosen, then congratulations and good luck to him, and the Mosconi Cup team.

The fact is we don't know why CJ was chosen. We don't know if Tony was ever even in contention. But there is zero reason to think that CJ would be any less of a captain than any other top professional player in terms of game knowledge.

Let's ride it out and see what happens. One thing to remember is that these days the Mosconi cup is also a coin flip with the short races.

C J was chosen simply because Matchroom considered him to be the best available candidate for the job. It really is as simple as that.
There is no hidden agenda.

Well, what I want to know is if C.J. still has that extremely cool vest, consisting of Old Glory's stars and stripes, that he is wearing in his avatar. Man, that vest is the nuts! :)

If I was going to the Mosconi Cup, I'd be sure to be wearing my colors.

Hey, wait! Did somebody snap a pic of me on their cell phone at the Mosconi Cup without me knowing it? :grin-square:

For the ladies going to the Mosconi Cup, there's only 11 of these left on Amazon. Get 'em while they're hot!

Of course, if I decide to fly over to the other side of the pond to York, I just might have to get my hair done before I leave.

What do you think?

If you're sitting near the front row, those TV lights can get hot and are extremely hard on the eyes. They're very bright.

I recommend these for the American railbirds. :)

Congrats, C.J.! A great choice. If I were you, I'd just get all the players selected a copy of Zen in the Art of Archery and tell 'em to go work on their breaks! USA will be shoo-ins.

Can't wait for this years' cup! Good luck!
