CJ leads US Mosconi challenge

How interesting! It may be that his recent contributions to this forum has helped him in this regard. Otherwise, I'm not sure why they would have selected him out of the blue, since he's been absent for such a long period of time from the pool scene.

Congratulations to him. I wish him all the best! :)

ETA: BIG, BIG, BIG improvement from last year's selection, I must add. :grin-square:

JAM...I can't understand why CJ posting on a "competing" forum (IP has their own forum) would have any bearing on choosing him as captain for the US Mosconi Cup team? While I'm for anybody other than CW, imo Tony Robles would be the better choice. Tony competes, teaches, and manages at a very high level.

I think you're barking up the wrong tree, Scott. I never intended to say C.J. was posting on IP forum, giving him a leg up on being chosen for the captain position. I'm not sure where you're coming from with that opinion.

In fact, I have no idea if he posts on IP forum or not. I don't go there, so how would I know this?

I know he posts on this forum, and that is why I said it. He has only *recently" been posting on this forum, FWIW, and that is what I meant. IOW, that it got him noticed. He has had a long absence from the pool scene.

JAM...You misunderstood me. The info was posted on JR's Inside Pool facebook site. IP has a competing forum to AzB. I didn't say CJ posted there...I questioned why posting on AZ would have any bearing on a choice made, and informed on a competing site.

You lost me. I don't know what you're talking about. How does IP's Facebook account have anything to do with C.J. getting selected for the captain position? Whether IP is a competing forum to AzBilliards or not, this is a non-issue as it pertains to the topic of this thread.

Not to be rude BUT C.J competes and teaches. And Tony has NEVER played at the level C.J has.
And I got all the respect in the world for Tony he is a great dude, this is more toward your teaches and competes/plays comment

What Scott is referring to is that CJ has just launched a new forum of his own.

Gosh, don't make this a C.J. versus [fill in the blank] thread. The selection has been made, and we should all rejoice in that it is better than last year's selection. :grin-square:

Well, I didn't know that, either! :embarrassed2:

Gee, I'm really out of the loop.

I must not have gotten that memo.

You are the only one that has mentioned a new forum by CJ, am I missing something, as I saw nothing by Scott about that at all?

Your exact words were, "What Scott was referring to" the only thing that I was pointing out was he didn't say anything
about or as you said refer to CJ's new forum. As I stated before that was only you.

No one was questioning the validity of CJ having a new forum.
Just you saying that is what Scott was referring to.
If he (Scott) was referring to this, POINT OUT WHERE, I don't think you will do that because he didn't, it's that simple.
TRY THAT

JumpinJoe...Evidence please. The last time CJ competed a professional event in was.....? He's given lessons to who?...when? Again no disrespect to CJ, but he's been 'out of the loop' for quite a while (he says this himself). Tony isn't...and who's to say he doesn't have the same skill level as CJ? Just because Tony has done it without being a hustler and gambler doesn't mean he doesn't play at a very high pro level.

Once again, since CJ has been chosen, then congratulations and good luck to him, and the Mosconi Cup team.
