any action?
Yes. Joyner and Mike Black broke even after an 8 hour session Saturday, with Mike getting 10-6/9-6. They're scheduled to go at it again tonight (Mon.) the same way. I'm sure some of the Baton Rouge boys can fill in the details...

Doc

I think they played 10-6 for cheap on Thursday and Mike finished up a couple of games and they broke even on Saturday as Doc stated.

Won't mention any names, but a guy we all know well, long ago, turned "biting"
into an artform. In his prime, he could have given Cliff a ball or so, but he could (and still can)easily give him 9/5 AND the breaks, on the "bite". (and $100 was his MINIMUM bite)They are, however, just about tied on paybacks.

Cliff always got square with me. But there was only one scenario in which I lent him money, and that was after I beat him. He would always ask for a bill or two and I would always oblige. I always got paid back the next time he wanted to play. So maybe the moral of the story is in order to get paid back you have to be showing him some kind of steady action.

True story, he called me on Christmas Eve one year asking to wire him some money to Mississippi(?) I was like, Cliff, I ain't about to leave my family and go to the western union right now. Hilarious.

Funny story and he probably didn't realize it was Christmas Eve. :p

Everyone knows who you are talking about, I have heard he is the Muhammad Ali of the bite.

BTW- Dick, that is the most commas I have ever seen in one "sentence".

cliff can lay the bite down so smooth, by the time he's done you'll feel like you owed him the money!

Cliff can talk a coyote out of a chicken.

Yes, but he has 25 years on cliff. Cliff still has time to develop the art.:)

UPDATE on Cliff Joyner and Mike Black match.

Just got back from a quick trip to Baton Rouge with SOFAKING. We watche Mike Black and Cliff play some one pocket on a very tough Diamond table. 300 jelly beans a game. Mike was up 3 games when we left. Cliff was struggling to play his best on the tough Diamond Tables at Bayou Billiards.

The place was packed with the regular BatonRouge crowd and numerous players and sweaters from New Orleans.

Keith Fremin had some one pocket action with Joe Long and they were see-sawing when we left.

Played a few games of one pocket with LSU1018 but he didn't ask to play for the Louisiana AZB King's Crown.
What's up with that?

Couldn't stay too long as both of us had to work on Tuesday am. Nice crowd. Cliff may be around for a while so maybe this weekend we'll go back to visit.
