It's a matter of respect - on many different levels.

I'd like to have back the money I loaned some people thinking I would get paid back.
 
Gary had mentioned that we owe a debt of gratitude to the legends for all the road stories that we are able to read.

I used to read stories about the Old West, gun fighters, cowboys and such.

I don't feel I owe anything to todays Pros for their adventuresome past any more than I owe modern day rodeo cowboys for the stories of the Old West.

I'm guessing that you haven't picked up on the general sentiments of most of the posters so far.

No one wants to have anything to do with anyone that won't try and help themselves first.

No effort on Cliff's part equals no effort on our part.

That was just part of it. Besides, if the OP is going to call us all A Holes, what do you think is going to happen. That we don't want to be considered that so we will change our minds all of a sudden.

Also, the OP wasn't Cliff. I'm guessing that you haven't read many of the posts did you.

Hey, I have an idea, start selling your book for five dollars shipped and donate the proceeds to Cliff if you feel that strongly about it.

It's quite obvious that you have the means to do it if you want.

Edit. Just noticed that you sell your book on this site, as of yet haven't donated to AZ yourself by purchasing a Gold Membership.

A non contributor yourself but expecting everyone else to step up. Not unlike, Cliff and Gary.

I'll cut him some slack on that one... It took me more than a cpl years to realize that was even an option after I talked to Jerry about advertising and he told me go donate and when you start making money then come see me about advertising LOL.....

Ren, I wasn't suggesting to Gerald that he pay for advertising.

Just that he should consider supporting AZ by buying a Gold status before he spends others money for them.

After all, he does hawk his book on AZ. It's the least he should do for a site that supports him.

Ya know the story of Cliff blowing 20 large on the Craps table. He was having fun and I doubt that at that moment, he would have taken a time out to pee on me or anyone else if we were on fire.

You know the saying, money won is better than money earned. It's obvious that people like him have no respect for money won. That's ok with me. It's also obvious that he has no respect nor knowledge of money earned either.

Otherwise his alias would not have been begging for other people's money earned.

Anyway, my wife puts up with me all year and plays on my pool team. I'm going to make sure she has a fantastic
Holiday in Vegas at the BCAPL this year.

I'll support Mark and his vendors well. And I'm going to buy me some of them Silver Elvis Presely sun glasses.

Don't feel pressured to get a gold membership. It costs $39 and some change a year. You can see photos bigger on the PHOTO PAGE in the Main Page, and it gives you space increase to 200 for PMs.

They used to have a monthly contest for gold members, but I'm not sure if that's still going on.

Mike Howerton, the webmaster, said there will be more benefits coming since they revamped the forum.

But you should never feel pushed into doing it just because another member is pushing you to do so. That's not fair. It is up to you, how much benefit you will receive from it.

There is a sticky post at the top of the Main Forum that will explain the benefits and how to pay for it, if you so desire. :smile:
