Over the years ive heard some stories about cliff, all not to good,i dont know if people just talk shit behide his back or what,because i see cliff at some of these big tournaments,talking and joking with some of the same people that says stuff about him,but every time i seen cliff playing he looks to b very goodsportsmens,i havent never seen him cheat or try to,always seems very friendly,and always shakes his oppionents hands win or lose.he just seems like a very humble man trying to make a living playing pool!NOW BEFORE ALL THE BASHING STARTS,I DONT KNOW ONE WAY OR ANOTHER ABOUT CLIFF PAST,IAM JUST STATEING WHAT I SEE,LOOKS LIKE A GOOD MAN TO ME!

He's among my top 5 favorite players, if he gets rid of the hitch and doesn't dog as many balls jesus would have a hard time getting 9-7.
This was before my time at AZ so I have to ask.

CLiff is reknown for asking anybody & everybody to borrow & 100 or hold a hundred....I've been asked dozens of times & am proud to say that he has yet to catch me @ a moment of weakness yet..:grin:
Cliff is one of THE BEST SPORTSMEN IN POOL. He is a relentless competitor. I have never seen him cheat. I don't know about the humble part but he is kind of quiet and lets his cue skills do the talking and sharking.
I have seen Cliff play in a lot of tournaments and I can say that I have never seen him do any type of sharking, especially the type that you REGULARLY see in the pool world. Standing at the table after your inning is over. Cursing and bouncing the butt of your cue on the floor trying to get in your opponent's head. Waving a towel all over the place like you are trying to get your opponent's attention. Making unnecessary communication to your opponent. Complaining etc. I could probably go on for an hour.
Cliff might be quick on the bite but he doesn't shark and I have never seen him come close to cheating. Hell, he even calls a foul on himself. If an opponent thinks he has fouled and Cliff isn't 100% sure, he won't argue and he will put up a ball.
As far as sharking and sportsmanship at the table, the rest of the pool players can take lessons from Cliff. At the table he is a class act.
I respect Cliff Joyner for his prowess at the table and for letting his opponent play his game.
Is he an angel? I doubt many of us can be considered angels.
One day, though I am going to beat him. He might have a cold or he might be having cramps or kidney stones but one day, I'm going to beat him at something. I might have to settle for tiddly-winks but my day is coming.

The trouble hitch is gone as far as I can see. He doesn't have what he had a year or two ago. He's still got a GREAT PAUSE but so do a lot of GREAT players.

I watched cliff play dippy at the DCC, He played awesome 1 hole, I could not believe how many banks he could make as well as constantly leavin dippy frozen to the rail. I am sure he had a 15 ball run during one of the sets. I watched three sets dippy wins the last set on a couple cue ball fouls from cliff, he was just tyin to get too perfect on some shots in my humble opinion. I have watched cliff play all over the usa and have never seen an issue with him. Always a sportsman at the table. But I think he might have signed a deal with the devil to get a game like he's got. Where do i sign up for that game ???:grin:

cliff, was a gentleman to play with, and the last set he either wins 40k or breaks even, there was a shot where he could of called a push on me and it was questionable, but he didnt, he aslways spotted his balls and played fair never argued about any thing. is he an angel away from the table, probally not but at the table i cant say any thing bad. and hes tough to play man does he do some things noone does!!
I think cliff knows more 1pocket shots then and body living.
Dippy did u ever feel like you were playing the guy that invented 1pocket,when you were playing cliff?
i will say he has the best end game of anyone, and he was the hardest for me to trap ad move balls with.

He was around my town for a while, giving 10-7 to anyone and he played lots of us...never saw anything but a classy opponent in him.

Cliff has/had his demons, but so do a lot of us (me included). I have been around him a lot; and he has always been a good sport, even when he loses. His skill is beyond question.
