Cochran's as I remember it.

This is the first of several selected pictures I intend to post and write about.
These are the front doors of Cochran's. The memories it brings back are priceless in my mind. I have not been able to find any pictures of the inside so this will have to do, from me at least.

Grady,
If I remember correctly, Tony Annigoni re-opened the former Cochran's in the early 1990's and named it "The Q Club" . Maybe he has some old photos of the inside before it was re-modeled.

Along these lines, I also wish we could see inside photos of St Elmos in Norfolk during Wimpy's heyday.

Thanks for your posts Grady.

Been there, lost there, left there. Thanks for the memories! ;)

Further stuff

I never saw Cochran's when Tony had it. After that I played Tony Chohan at Hollywood Billiards (approx. 2000). It was nicely done but it wasn't Cochran's. I enjoyed visiting with Phillipino Gene, Trees and others.
I wanted to purchase Cochran's myself. At the time I wanted to buy it (sometime in the early 70's), it was owned by Whitehead and Zimmerman and they wouldn't even let me make an offer because they also owned the Palace down the street and they didn't want the competition.
One of these days I'd love to do a Cochran's reunion, before all of us who loved the place are dead.

Terry I think you are correct about Tony Annigoni tacking over ownreship of Cochran's. He would be a great sorce of information of the history of this place. Good luck Grady and thanks for the picture.

Here's a close-up of the two people in the window. Does the face ring any bells for anyone?
