Well, as probably the most prolific poster on AZB (over 1000 posts in 6 months), I would like to ask one question. Have you ever made an accurate post?

the only useless knowlegde provided on this thread was you saying they are all the same. you didnt answer how many you mic'ed before u said that.

if you read my post i have mic'ed cogs. and i have about 10 cuemakers i try to mimic their feel. cog is one. i loook at that list every day and HOLY CRAP!!! looks like hillscues put up almost the same exact numbers i did. THAT WAS FOR MEMORY SIR.

i dont know where your from as far as technology but i can go online any second of any day on my phone. i dont have to be home

maybe you should stick to clubbing them baby seals...

My answer was accurate, was yours? It looks like your statement was almost right (according to you as you deleted your post), but actually---Wrong, even, as you say, having miked many.

Since I got on the Internet newsgroups starting with rsb in 1997 I have never, ever said that you need a metal lathe to build a cue. Quite the contrary, I have always said that the, what I call toy lathes, can be used for building cues and that there is a place for them. What I've always said, and you and Chris disputed, was that a larger lathe once set up is more accurate and much more efficient in the use of time involved in building a cue. You just said that your time is dollars. In that thread, on a different post, you also said that you intended to buy a larger lathe in the future as the one you were using (Hightower) took to long for the different changes that needed to be made. Then later in the same thread you state that the Hightower is just as fast and just as accurate, as any metal lathe and in fact, that it is so accurate that you don't even check to see if your work is running true, plus the metal lathes weigh 2 tons and the Hightower cost a fraction of their price and all of these statements are myths.

That, my friend, is what caused the heated debate. Your exaggerations, not my propensity for arguing. I'm not picking on you but when I see someone make a false statement, especially in a forum that is supposed to be promoting knowledge, then I will call them on it.

I rest my case

no you gave me a series of questions and what u thought were right answers.

i proved you wrong then chris backed it up for me

i never exaggerated 1 bit. i would like multiple machines but never said a full size metal lathe. unnessessary

i was building entire cue with 2000$ invested on a machine that weighs 80 lbs.

this has nothing to do with cog cues

the end......

I've never been able to understand why someone keeps posting when after they admit they have made their last post on the subject.

Sooooooooo........just exactly what are the specs of an unmolested cog cue.

I stand corrected.....our absolutely correct Dale....

Well Dave.

Joey told me and Sherm, in person, in his shop, that he builds
all his cues to the exact same specs - and further explained why.

If you have found variations between cues, they happend
after they left the shop.

And that is the right answer.

Dale

Dave, I've been meaning to give you a call. Sorry about being MIA. With all the hype on the Cog I just might have to pull mine out and mic it to throw some more wood on this fire. All I know is it's hits REAL good. I also have a BCM cue and it hits good too. Joe was a firm believer in making the cues the same, and only 57 1/2 " long. Does anyone know if Joe and Bobby Hunter are going to craft some cues together or not? I'd like to see those puppies if it happens. There was some talk of that last year.
