I noticed the other day that one of the big poker sites posted an all-time money list for poker players. Got me wondering what the numbers would look like for pool players, so I put together a money list based on the last 11 years that we have tracked results here. I realize that this list is far from all-inclusive, but it is still interesting to look at.

Here are the links...

Chris, that list is for the last eleven years! If you included all the 90's (which were very good years for Johnny) I suspect that number would double at least. Still not much compared to more highly paid athletes in other sports. What I see here are numbers that would be a good YEAR for a golfer or tennis player. It seems pool players are earning about 10% as much as top athletes in other major sports.

My suggestion to a pool pro is that if you happen to win a big tournament and make a nice score, invest it wisely! Going out and buying a new car is not a good investment, but I've seen several players do exactly that when they win fifteen or twenty grand. I've also seen some invest their money on the crap table, another not so wise investment.

That is why its called a crap table. That is its worth.

IPT inflation.

Take away the IPT and these numbers would be much lower. Efren banked at least 765K from IPT tournaments. Don't know if he has been paid all of it yet but these numbers would be even sadder without the IPT infusion of 5+ million.
