Congrats to Earl on winning the one-hole division og the Carolina Open. Johnnyt

Great achievement, Earl just confirmed he is one of the strongest all-around players. I've never heard of him being a danger in One-Pocket before.

Go Earl !!!

The Pearl is back in true form !
Show them how we do it in Roseboro Earl !!
Good Luck in the 9 ball tournament !!

Besides his 6 World 9 Ball Championships and 5 U.S. Open 9 Ball Championships, he's also won the 1999 World 8 Ball Championship.
In 14.1, he claims a high run of 406. He's not as great an all around player as Reyes, Varner or Hopkins, but he definitely is one of the top all-around players with this newest feather in his cap.

One Pocket may suit him better at this stage of his career than 9 ball. Look at the success Efren is having in One Pocket. They're both masters of the cue ball and have exceptional pocketing skills. If Earl can learn some of the finer points and nuances of the game, he'll do just fine. He's played in the DCC in the past. Who knows, maybe he's hooked up with Grady or Fred....

There's a group of us here at AZB who have always pulled for Earl. There's another group who detest his very existance, or at least you would think so by how much he's attacked. But after this last escapade, his fans have every right to be proud of him. Congrats indeed to the still mighty "Pearl."

EAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember at DCC last year people were surprised he beat a top 1P player.

Earl says, "What? You think because you don't see me playing 1P on TV that I can't play? Sheesh! If the game involves balls and pockets, I can PLAY!"

I always liked that quote.

Earl's 'not any good at one pocket' speed is still damn strong compared to the rest of the world, bar the top 5%...IMO!

Go Earl! Put the screws to 'em!

Earl is a pool player,PERIOD..No matter what the game is he's going to be competitive. This is not a surprise to me,I've seen him play 1p.He can play anything!

I would be surprised if Johnny Archer would snap off a 1P tournament .Not because he was'nt capable, but because he has voiced his dislike for the game in talks.

I watched the Earl Strickland vs. Ralpheal Martinez match and Earl played some shots that had Ralpheal shaking is head. Earl was playing perty sporty one-hole in Goldsboro.

I'm happy if Earl is back on track in his life, regardless of what game he's playing. If this is an indication that he has his act back together, then SVB had better bring his 'A' game to the Action Challenge II, which I'm sure he will...Tom

:D I didnt think Earl had a head for the game of 1 hole but maybe it will calm him down some, lol.Congrats to Earl!

GO EARL!!! :D I would LOVE to see Earl make a true come back. Rafael Martinez plays some pretty impressive one pocket himself. I remember watching Raffy play one pocket Rich in Reno 4-5 years back. Amazing!
