The Van Boening streak keeps on going strong!

There hasn't been any front-page news on AzBilliards front page about SBE. The only news is on the forum.

Thats $80,000 in the first 10 weeks of the year for Shane. $8,000 a week not to hard to take. All from US tournaments I believe. Johnnyt

I love shane, but he has a long ways to go before he gets mentioned in best-ever discussions.

I edited it to US players which I ment anyway. I've seen just about all the great players live and up close in the last 50+ years and I can't think of any that would beat him more than 50% of the time in tournament play or gambling. Johnnyt

ALL I know is he controlled whitey better than anyone else and it made great fun on Saturday night during the stream! He played way better than his competition and the pressure of playing him showed on all the others! Great Job CONGRATULATIONS Shane!

Long ways??? not sure if i agree.....

Just using the last 2-3 years he has proved he is among the best ever. Is he unbeatable? Nope. But anytime he plays, its almost a guarantee you put your cheddar on the SVB. Thats when you know you can mention him with the greats.

He won both the 9 ball and 8 ball tourneys at Fargo Billiards last weekend also

Sunday

He demolished the competition in the last three matches today to take the title. He played today like the OLD Tiger

His hospitality in Fargo last weekend was amazing

I always said i wasn't sure if the new players were better than the players from the past but believe me they wouldn't want anything to do with Shane.

A little early to be placing Shane's name with the greatest ever, but he may be heading down that path. In ten ball, he must already be counted as one of the all time greats, perhaps even the greatest. In nine ball, his title count is hardly sufficient for him to be considered alongside guys like Lassiter, Sigel, Souquet, Hall and Archer, but he may surpass all of them one day. As an all-around player, Nick Varner was a world champion in 14.1, one pocket, bank pool, eight ball and nine ball and Lassiter won the all-around at Johnston City three years in a row in the early 1960's with every superstar of the game present.

In Shane, we are lucky to be witnessing a superstar in his prime, and maybe he'll wind up on the short list of the greatest ever. For now, let's just enjoy this incomparable display of excellence.

I just reviewed the flow chart. After Shane lost in his second match of the event, he won 10 matches in a row to take the title. And the aggregate score of those 10 matches was 103-35!

For the three matches he played on Sunday, he was 33-9. For his last five matches prior to the finals, he was 50-11. Remarkable!

Shane played some of the best 10 ball I've ever seen this week. Just superb pool.

He's still young so he's got a ways to go to catch the top U.S. players who had longer careers, but in terms of ability I would agree that he's on the short list of best U.S. players ever.

Like most I watched thanks to InsidePool, but this display of billiards was one of the best I have seen in a long time. What domination, I don't recall Shane missing any makeable shots. He played splended. Congrats on the win Shane
