Stu, you're up! I figured you wouldn't awake until about August! :D :D

Firstly, YOURE A LEGEND! Big hug and kiss (actually hold the kiss :o )

WOW, looking forward to next week even more now, you're gonna have a blast. You are guaranteed 7 matches playing the game u love more than any other!

I went into it last year with modest expectations, try and get a high run, maybe qualify etc. and had a ball. Hey you do realise I'm allowed to ask you for safety advice even if we play each other right?

I was also worried you wouldn't get time off, good news (can you get your boss to ring Steves boss?)

PS
You do realise you will be "outed", unless youre gonna play as S.Morales? ;)

PPS
You will get to test that tacttical knowledge of yours!

See you tomorrow prob, I need more lessons! :)

Congrats Stu, sounds like you played well considering how much time was available. Good luck and have fun in the tournament.

PS, you know, just playing that long you should have won a medal or something. LOL

Our very own SJM has earned himself a spot.....Those of us in NYC know what a talented and knowledgable player he is. Soon, the world will know.

I nearly fell off my chair laughing when I read this, Steve. Thanks again for the post, and thanks to all for your kind words.

Woohoo...the AZ community will finally find out what SJM stands for! But maybe his name really is Stu J. Morales. :)

Congratulations SJM. We'll all be rooting for you. Make America proud and take down any Brits that get in your way. :D

Wow! Now the world field is definitely in trouble. Apparently SJM played 7 or 8 matches without scratching or taking a foul once!

Unless he did, and counted them in the above calculation  !

Just teasing you, sir. ;) The AZ community knows how proud we all are of this man, but they probably don't know how proud the NYC community is of him. We've all been almost begging him to play competitively in an event like this for a while, and what does he do? He wins the first one. LOL.

Must be nice :).

Our very own SJM has earned himself a spot into the upcoming World 14.1 Tournament next week, beating out a tough field of qualifiers. Play ended at about 5 in the morning!

I just want to pass along my congratulations for this hard-fought and WELL-EARNED feat. Those of us in NYC know what a talented and knowledgable player he is. Soon, the world will know :).

Once again, great job sir!

SJM -

CONGRATULATIONS! And I think the accomplishment is twice as great since I know the caliber of straight pool players up in that neck of the woods. You are a great friend and a great player....and I couldn't be happier for you! I hope that you have the time of your life playing in the Championships...and I know that you will make your mark in that event!

All the best,

Melissa

Wow congratulations SJM! It's great to see yet another AZ'er in the tournament...there's a few of them now. Considering the crop of straight pool players in the New York area SJM has alot to be proud of, and what a great representitive for this great game!

Thank you so much, Melissa. Seems I was not the only one making a statement Saturday over the glorious green felt. Congratulations on a great tournament at WPBA Florida. Can't wait to see you on TV!

I value your friendship, too, and have since we met at the 2001 WPBA Nationals.

Wow, seriously embarrassing. Needless to say, mine is a pretty big issue. I'll correct it, with an apology for a truly bizarre typo.

sjm,
Now, now, now......as pitcher Terry Forster punned on the David Letterman show (when teased about his ample waistline), "A WAIST IS A TERRIBLE THING TO MIND."

Stu,

congrats! I think you already know how I feel.

The only advice I can give you is, go and enjoy every mement of the event. Anything beyond that, in the way of runs or victories, is gravy. It will be a memory that will stay with you for a lifetime.
