You're obviously insinuating something here - what is it? Are you suggesting that CW didn't deserve this win somehow? I guess TC, Orcullo, SVB, Davis, and Archer all played dead so Charlie could claim a victory, right?canwin said:I can't believe people haven't figured out what goes on behind the tournament scene. Charlie played great and had his break working big time, its really ridiculous to insinuate that him putting on a tourney somehow helped him win.
Why cant people ever just say good shooting and give their respect to people that deserve it
Williebetmore said:How strong was this performance? Charlie won the Jacksonville tournament with victories over Dennis Orcullo, Mike Davis, Tony Crosby, Shane Van Boening, and Johnny Archer. All while directing the tournament, and suffering some very needless hassles from the juvenile Corey Deuel.
While playing pool does not seem to be Charlie's primary focus nowadays, this will hopefully put to rest any and all questions regarding his skill level. That was a very strong tournament performance. Congratulations Charlie.

I remember when a friend of mine(or was it me?) who got on a bus and rode across country to the US Open for my first attempt at tournament competition. When it got down to the last two tables, I was still in it. I played on this one table(a table I broke good on) and had the guy stuck 10-0 winning 11-1. They had me scheduled on the board to play on that table (twice) and made it to where I wasn’t allowed to play on it again and seriously delaying my starting times to boot because of it. So, I played on the other table and managed to win twice but when it came time(as the schedule said) to play on the other table I was breaking good on, it never happened. I came in 5th. Never played in another US Open because of it. Played in another tournament(rode 1000+ miles to it in Reno) and read the board over and over to make sure my starting time was correct for the next day after winning my first match , even writing it down on a piece of paper. Well, don’t you know what happened there? TD (yours truly)calls the next day saying my match was starting(4 hrs early) and I had 5 min. to get to it. Had trouble finding my f$%#ing glasses, ran water over my face, threw on my clothes and he disqualified me for being 1 min. late. Never played in another one. Have seen others show up way late and no problemo. So, when I say there are behind the scenes moves you best believe it(or not).

His 16 year old adopted German son didn't do too badly either..... imo

My prediction.. .Allen Hopkins will do real good in his tournaments .
