Congratulations to Thorsten Hohmann

I'll second that! He was a joy to watch. The man knows how to play a little pool alright. When he was on 198 vs Daz it looked like he might have screwed the pooch, I was like holly crap! At this point?

But he somehow squeezed that one ball through a hole so small - I think he willed that one ball to shrink into a snooker ball.

Way to go Toasty, and hats off to Daz as well! Awesome tourney!

A True Champion

2013 World 14.1 champion.

For a third time!!!

Randy Goldwater
A Champion of Skill and Character. Great Match and some very tense moments. The combination on the 10 was a gutsy shot! I will say that Darren Appleton will win this thing very soon.

Thorsten was very gracious in his remarks, especially for fellow Countryman Oliver Ortmann. 3 Time World Champion! Next stop, Hall of fame-Guaranteed!

Thanks Randy for being such a positive influence on his career.

Thank you for the kind words. Thorsten is everything good in a pool player and human being. The salt of the earth. I'm proud to know him.

Congratulations to Thorsten Hohmann, very tough field to get through!
I agree the combo on the 10 was key!
Congrats to all that played, and nice to see 14.1 making a little comeback!
Great 200 and out by Daz too.

Congrats!!!!

Congratulation Thorsten! You make the game look so easy, when I know full well how difficult it is to make it look that easy! lol :)

Darren's error was not taking a foul when he was stuck to the stack or Thorsten was on one. Either way a hell of a tournament for Darren and congrats to Thorsten for a great victory.

If 14.1 were still the championship game Thorsten Hohmann would likely be considered the best pool player in the world.

congrats thorsten! now i want my own shiny vest!!

great tournament!! now that it's over...we will have to find something else to fill that void :eek:

Great match, continuous battle through tough positions by two great players!!
Straight pool lives!!
A big THANK YOU to the people that made it possible for everyone around the planet to watch the event!!

I've said this many times, both on here and in talking to people in person, that regardless of how well Shane breaks,or how well Orcullo does things, that if you were going to build a pool player from scratch, that the end result would be Thorsten. Tommy D.

There was a lot of great play in this tournament. Congratulations to Thorsten for the almighty win. :clapping:

Darren Appleton broke the record by running out to 200.

Dennis Hatch defeated some world beaters on his quest to the semi-finals. :thumbup2:

John Schmidt gave it his all, and he had a great tournament. :)

I never realized how cute Oliver Ortmann is. He's a hunk! Oh, he plays good too. :grin-square:

Enjoyed reading about this event. I only saw a couple snippets when Dennis Hatch was playing, but from all accounts, it looks like this tournament was a hit! Bravo!

I've seen Oliver play a couple times here in Spain. He is amazingly powerful, intense and extremely focused. Quite a player. I won't comment on the good looks, though
