Coos Bay Oregon-pool rooms?

I am going to be in Coos Bay this June.After doing some looking there does not seem to be any pool rooms close. I think the closest I found was about a 3 or 4 hour drive.
Any help here?
And free water is not a requirement.

Not really any pool rooms just bars with tables. We were just at Walt's Pourhouse in Coos Bay. Bunch of nice people
 
I'm 3 hours away from Coos Bay, free pool here with a view and free quality well water. :smile:
Might even have an extra bed you could share with my MIL, that might keep her from playing head games with my wife and I. (She's hot too)

My hunch is all you are going to find there is ragged beer stained bar tables and bar scowls.

It'll probably be 50s or 60s, fog in the mornings, and maybe some rain. There's lots of nice scenery, great seafood, boat rides, and the best table in town is surely John's ('metmot' on AZ) Gold Crown:smile:

I live in Coos Bay. The coney station is so far removed from pool reality that they probably think the tables they have are "regulation". What they are is funky 8 foot valleys. And you will not find an opponent. For strictly pool play quality the Silver Dollar has the best tables and the only one you can rent by the hour. Jessie has one nine foot gc there but the felt is not the best. She also has three 7 foot diamonds with 50 cent slots. Walt's has good food and almost no pool environment. If you're looking for a game it's pretty bleak here. If you want to play some cheap let me know your dates here and I'll see if I can sneak away from the family. I also have without a doubt the best 9 foot table in the county on site in the back room of my business. A gold crown three with custom rails built by Donny Wessels (SD Billiards) I can't get a home game because everyone near my speed around here thinks the home table advantage is too great to overcome. They won't play unless I come out to the bar boxes. Oh hell, they won't play me then either.:smile:

Yes, the closer to the ocean you are the cooler it is. Throw a little humidity and a stiff Pacific breeze and you have a chilly average temp. The fog will usually clear and the afternoons can be perfect. I like to go in late July or early August and it can be chilly then also. This same scenario goes from Malibu to Seattle seems like September and October are the warm months.

I can relate metmot. Very similar situation where I live. I don't know what I would do with out my own table.:cool:

I am in the area visiting family this weekend and was thinking about checking out the silver dollar. It would be cool to meet another AZ'er if you or anyone else are interested.
 
I checked out The Silver Dollar over the weekend. Interesting little bar there. They do have 4 Diamond bar tables, with mostly Amarath professional/premium balls, and red dot cue ball. One table I played on did have a mismatched ball set but everything played fine. Not wanting to make a show, I didn't bring my cue in, just used the house cues. All in all, the equipment seemed pretty good for a dive bar. And only 50 cents a game...a great deal. I went there Fri night and Sat afternoon but couldn't make the tournament Sunday as it was my last night in town. I've played at Coney Station before on their Valley tables and while there is a distinct difference in patrons/clientele, The Silver Dollar is definitely the better option for pool players.

Thanks for the update! I found a couple of well maintained bar boxes just north of Coos bay in Reedsport. A great bar called Waterfront Restaurant & Lounge. Great people and atmosphere.
