Corey Deuel Shot vs Hatch (Low Left)

I think it was about 8'oclock on the cue ball...

THAT'S WHAT I WAS GOING TO TYPE WHILE READING PAGE 1, BUT YOU STOLE IT.

IT'S MORE ABOUT THE FOLLOW THROUGH/STROKE THAN MOST PEOPLE REALIZE. (WATCH HIM "POP" HIS WRIST)

I hit the same shot with hard low left the other day. The cue ball did the same thing. Only thing was, that wasn't where I wanted it. I stood there for a second after the shot thinking about what the cb did and I really didn't understand it. From some of the explanation in the thread I have gotten a better idea about what happened.

Yeah Definatly Low Left!!

I concur. The draw makes it head to towards the side pocket a tad, the left makes it straighten out straight across and it still has a ton of left spin on it when it hit the rail to open up back down table. Very creative and as someone said ballsy. But still a confident stoke.

When i first saw this shot i went and practiced it over and over and i have it down now and it is definatly bottom left and you shoot it like you wanna draw the hell out of it

Straight left. You basically just hit it hard enough to slide to the 2nd rail, so the english stays on the ball. It then takes, and there you go. You more often see this one to go 4 rails as opposed to 2, or at least I do playing one pocket.

When I saw Corey Deuel Shot I knew exactly what you were talking about. I think he put stun left and it did not kick in until it hit the second rail.

in my imagination it was left and it did not take on the first rail, but werent we all taught that the English reverses on the second rail?

hard stun with LLLLOOOOTTTTSSS of left.... i had tried practicing this shot years ago and it still takes my three tries to get it right. to play it in a tournament on a unfamiliar table and have it come out with perfect speed/spin.............. THAT ONE SIC STROKE HE HAS!

This is a post of mine copied from the post Watchez cited....

I seen Cory shoot this shot for the first time 7-8years ago on a tight GC with 860 Simonis that was 6-7 months old. I've seen him hit it from a few different angles as well. The diagram below is the sickest shot I have ever seen anyone complete. He it it at break speed on the said 6-7 month old cloth... Same shot as the thread topic but at this angle on old cloth IMO is way more impressive.

That's a tough shot the way you have it set up. I have a few videos with this shot on them but they always show it with the 14 frozen to the rail. It's shot with low inside at 730 firm with a good stroke.

There was definitely a ton of left on that shot with just a touch of low on whitey. He was really trying to send Dennis the message playing that shot. I only watched the part where the shot was, but, he shot it like he was up 10-0 racing to 11.

its bottom left, if u hit it well enough the spin is still on in by the time it gets to the 2nd rail and it turns to right spin. basically off the first cushion it checks then it goes to running side. try it, you'll get it, not all that hard of a shot to be honest although to control it to that extent will take some practise

As evidenced by all the differing thoughts re: hi/ low/ center on the CB...

As I said earlier, it can be done with any of em!

I think the shot we usually see is frozen to the rail. If it's hit rail-first the CB rebounds straight across the table rather than forward, even with inside spin and no draw.

Rodney hit that with a bunch of left english... It works best in dry conditions and newer cloth.

It's definately not worn cloth and dirty balls! You need the new cloth and clean balls to get the extra spin and slide. It's a great shot.........

So is it commonly believed that Corey is the second most creative pool player after Efren? Who is 3rd?
