Corey is so talented and pool smart it is unreal. People count him out alot but he is capable of winning at any given time if he is hungry to do so.
I totally agree with you. I've been gambling playing eight ball on the both tables for over over sixty years and know the difference. Putting the real top players aside, guys that can run out on any table, The small table on the long run is harder for most.
Whenever I had to play a real top player I always choose the 7 footer. I have beaten many top players and some pros playing eight ball on the bar box, players that I would have little chance against on the big track.
Why? Because it's harder for them to run racks. Maybe I didn't have all the skills they had but I had enough skills to win when I got my turn at the table.
Because nobody would try lol.
Its easier for me on a BB because I dont play 8 ball often and the clusters arent the problem(for me) its the weird patterns I play. Its easier to make balls on a BB when you get out of line
In other news Sam Grizzle of punching Phil Helmuth fame knocked me out of the Colossus event(WSOP) by hitting a 3 outter on the river - we were all in preflop. Been a long day, going to bed.

If top pros actually played 14.1 on 7-footers, I imagine we'd see some real high runs.
Here's what John Schmidt said on AzB about eight years ago about 14.1 and table size:
"for the record i think 14.1 on the bartable is easier than 9ft.
you can reach allbreakballs,combos and shots are a joke etc.
yes its more confined space but with the cueball control ive learned from 14.1 thats the last thing im worried about.
for the record the easiest table to play 14.1 is a 4x8 .ive played on them all and its the easiest no doubt. enough room to play but still easier on shotmaking,reaching,combos than 9ft."
The only two times I saw John Schmidt practice straight pool on a bar table (at the BCA Expo) he ran 180 within three tries each time. I would not bet against 300 within a week.

By reading this, I would come to the conclusion that you do not play very well. Just doesn't make any sense, was the tournament handicapped? Just sounds like the typical banger and the some days I'm on bs we hear from them - knowing they can't play as soon as they say that.

Well of course. But this is in no small part down to the way the pros approach the game. A BNR is easier on a bar box than on a 9 ft all other things being equal. Anyway, a 9 pack is an outlier so it means very little other than Corey made a 9 pack and most players wouldn't with the same roll of the balls.
Here is some of my feelings about 7-footers.
...in the 60s, Jimmy Moore told me a guy ran 22 racks on him at $2 a game.
...Bobby Leggs ran 21 racks in the 70s....for a lot more dough.
...first time I saw Shane playing on a Valley 7-footer, he was playing a set with Joiner
at QMasters in '06....he ran an 11-pack to finish the set.
I haven't heard of these things being done on a 9-footer...competively.
On the other hand, I was having breakfast every morning at a place in Memphis...'85...
....they had a 3x6 Valley there....I tried probably 15 times to break and run at 8-ball....
...never did it once....WAY too congested.
I've gambled a lot on over-size 8-foot Gold Crowns...with 5 inch pockets...
...those were the easiest tables for me to run racks at 8 or 9 ball.
I think Diamond 7-footers might change these stats....I've not much experience on them.

Let me guess... you play on a BB. Simply put nice idea but the traffic argument doesn't play. Simple shape on a table that is easier to make balls on equals easier game. Period.
Nick you obviously ASSUME you knew who Frank is, but in his day, the 9 footer....he was very comfortable on, and could handle most all top pros with the wild 8/roll out 9 ball. I did something two weeks ago I've never done, and I think it was a little luck, but waaaaaaaay more difficult. I played 6....8 ball matches/alternate break on diamond bar tables races to 4. With the alternate break I LUCKILYwon 24 straight games='s 6 matches 4-0. Alternate break, that's not easy. Then I ran outta steam from the losers side in the finals. Got 2nd again, buy hey, I'm finally getting things figured out, as Frank knows all to well I can do. I almost thought it was age, but after two years of this and that I figured out, with the 15 year layoff what was needed to fix things.
A 9 pack, take what ya make, is pretty sporty.
I felt winning 24-0 in 6 matches, with me only breaking 12 times BCA rules was impossible.

It was a 4-12 rated tournament, race to your rating. They put me in as an 8. You can conclude whatever you like
