coring & gluing

The question I have from a players perspective is what glue hits better when used in a cored cue? Does it add or take away from the hit of a cue when different glues are used?

good question and i have my opinion but like Joey i will plead the 5th.

Mike, all the spercs i have seen on the 5-30 minute and even the two ton epoxies are in the 2000-2500 psi range.

Yes I know, just wanted to see if anyone was actually reading about what they were using or are they doing it just because someone said it was okay,

I've never been impressed with those "2-Ton" epoxies by Devcon. I've dried some and my fingernail could mark them.

The Devcon 2T can be handled and even worked after 8 hrs. but it's not fully cured for a full 24 hrs. Same with super-glue, full bond strength/ 24 hrs. Thorough mixing of the epoxy is essential. Try the finger-nail test after 24 hrs. If you're still marking the epoxy, it wasn't mixed properly. Properly mixed, the epoxy will get as hard as glass. If something breaks at that point it won't be the epoxy it will be the wood.
