Ebony Zylr recently refinished by Kerry

Ebony nose + butt with fancy ring

Rare Cork wrap

Butt 16.8 oz

Shaft 1 4.2 oz 12.95mm

Shaft 1 has a taper roll the thickness of a penny when rolling the shaft seperately on the table. When screwed to the butt and rolled with the shaft resting on the cushin and the butt on the table there is some variation at the tip.

Shaft 2 4.5 oz 12.8mm

Shaft also shows very very minor taper roll. cant be measured really but the amount of light benith the shaft changes. When rolled as described above it is perfect.

I'm probably being overly critical but would rather that than have any unhappy customers.

No dents ding or scratches.

$1100 shipped.

cork is the best feeling wrap out there.it just doesn't go well with many cues, but it does with this one.

Cork

Cork is definately a sweet wrap to play with. I have an ebony titilist with cork. It compliments the cue nicely.

Those Pictures Look Lie They Came Out Great.....lol. Good Luck With The Sale.

P.s. His Is To My Knowledge The First Cork Wrap That Was Done By Kerry.

NO PROBLEM, HERE'S A BUMP FOR A NICE RARE EBONY ZYLR.

When I spoke with Kerry while i was ordering my new Zylr he told me he makes very few ebony cues because most peoples skills are not up to playing with an Ebony cue.

That is interesting. Learn something everyday. I didn't know that certain skills were required to play with the different woods.

Love the cue but am not sure that I have the skills that are required to play with it.

Trust me Nobody's "skills" are more questionable then mine and I still enjoyed hitting a few balls with this baby:D .

I never did think to ask Kerry what he ment by the comment.

I wondered about that too.

i know most of my true solid Ebony front cues are very quiet and have very little sound compared to Maple and Purpleheart and most other woods.i guess he could mean that there is really not as much feedback from an Ebony cue,but i still feel they have as much or more than a ss joint,so i am really not sure what he meant.

I have an Ebony Zylr and talked to him at length on this subject. He means that most people buy an ebony cue because it is black and they like the looks. He told me that because of the properties of the wood, the player needs to have a very fluid and smooth stroke to get the right feedback from this very dense piece of timber. I have been using mine for a while and I have to hold the cue very loose, accelerate into the cueball, never really need a hard stroke. I use a Kamui hard tip and can get much more english closer to center ball than any cue I have hit. According to Kerry, you have to let the cue do the work.

Good luck with your sale, Matt.

I am temporarily suspending the sale of the Zylr. My customers Fancy Hill cue has been lost by USPS and I may need to return the Zylr to the customer. Will update the thread as soon as I know more.

The cue doesn't have a weight bolt.

It does have a perfect balance and feel to it. Would make most people guess much lighter than the scale shows.

I'd be willing to ship to anyone who is worried about the weight to try the cue to see just how good it does feel. Payment for the cue would be held for (3 days) until your satisfied with your purchase. The only thing I would ask is that you pay shipping both ways should you decide the cue isn't for you.
