I posted a while back about this guy that has been posting those GW series production cues and a few Fury's and calling them "high dollar" around the Seattle area... I used to create postings in reply with links to what he was really selling and they always got removed...

So I finally decided to contact him.

Here are the two adds below:

http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/spo/1497862644.html (this is a Fury)

http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/spo/1497860328.html (this has the AWESOME UniLoc joint!!)

Here's a few quotes....

I will give you an honest piece of advice... DO NOT BUY A CUE STICK UNLESS IT HAS THE "Uni-Loc" Joint, as the Uni-Loc Joint is the very best when it comes to the most secure and tight fitting joint possible.

If you want one of the best cue sticks for playing on a pool league then buy one of these... as I guarantee you that you will not find a better cue stick for the money!!!

I guarantee when you see these cue sticks in person that you will definately buy at least one of them.

These cue sticks are better than most of the $1000 cue sticks on the market today!

Here's an email I sent him...

Dude.... That's a cheap(ish) production cue. There are ZERO inlays on that cue. And for the record, the Uni-Loc joint was the WORST joint ever made... There is a reason you never see them.

You're a used car salesman when it comes to cues....

Here's his responses (all in seperate emails...) His email address is dapskis@yahoo.com - feel free to chime in...

Email 1: TAKE A HIKE!!!!!!!!

YOU DON'T KNOW A DAMM THING WHEN IT COMES TO CUE STICKS!!!

My response: The fact of the matter is you are trying to rip off the uneducated pool population - period.

I know more about cues than you will ever. I own joint protectors worth more than what you are selling...

You've been preying on unsuspecting people trying to pawn off Fury cues (in some cases) as custom when they are $85 production cues... You're what give pool a bad name.

Email 2: YOU ARE THE BAD NAME BUDDY... MIND YOUR OWN F.. BUSINESS AND TAKE A NICE HIKE TO NO WHERE!!!

Email 3: YOU DON'T KNOW A RAT'S ASS ABOUT CUE STICKS!

Email 4: THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS THAT YOU ARE A HARASSIER!

Email 5: I DON'T CARE WHAT THE HELL YOU THINK!

Email 6: AND NOW JUST BECAUSE OF YOUR UNJUST REPLIES... I WILL SELL THESE CUE STICKS EVERYWHERE I CAN FIND TO DO SO!

Email 7: Your email address has now been blocked AND YOU WILL BE REPORTED!!!!!!

Email 8: YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT

Email 9: YOU ARE JUST PLAIN STUPID!!!

Email 10: YOU ARE JUST PLAIN STUPID!!!

Email 11: HA HA HA HA HA ~

Email 12: YOUR BLOCKED......... DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Email 13: HOW DO YOU LIKE IT?????????????

Wonder if he has a chemical imbalance....

So of course after his barrage of emails, I went back and flagged his postings... Anyone else feel free.

Worse than anything, this guy is preying on the newer players, the ones that are to help grow this hobby/game..... Doesn't look too positive to me.

Anyone around Seattle know this guy?

Ross,

The ad you sent me for the Brunswick catalog turns out to be this same guy too - seriously :grin::grin:

It's a cheapie repro. I offered him $10 - I'm sure I'll get an ass kickin'.

Too good to pass by

Ok....I got in on the fun.....heres my e-mail to him about his latest posting.

Is Dave Pearson the maker? Is the shaft a low deflection model? This is a beautiful cue a collectors item to be sure. I would not know a proper price to offer. I like a bone crusher cue....one I can really lay into on the break.....what kind of ferrule material is used here.....it looks like it could be ivory......if so ....is it elephant or walrus.....I heard that walrus is much better able to withstand the shock forces generated on the break.......Dano

Not as witty or entertaining as others.....but I'll bet I get a tug on my line anyway....lol......and I flagged his post as prohibited while I was there

1PRoscoe is that your cue in your avatar? Do you have pics of it online. Would like to see the whole thing.

Oh Yeah. I flagged that guy too with the cues.

That is all.

He does say he has documentation on the Ivory. Gene doesn't use Ivory, so I have no clue what info documentation would have on it. Would it give the cuemaker's name, by any chance?

I wrote, too. Let's see what his answers are. My questions and suggestions are real simple stuff, though. The site url is at the bottom...

===============================

What cuemaker built this cue? You did not show the maker's name or mark in your photos and you didn't name him in your listing. The cuemaker's name and how he marked the cue will make a difference in how much some of us are willing to pay for a cue. Some cuemakers have work that is worth much more than what you are asking. How they marked it often identifies the year span in which it was made and many of the materials he used at that time, or other valuable info, which can sometimes make a cue worth a lot more, depending on who the cuemaker is. If you list his name, you might find you have something that collectors would pay a lot more for, than you're asking. But, without his name, you might as well have a measly production cue that will be lucky to bring you $50.

What brand is the clear plastic case and does it open from the side or the end? Or, is it one of the clear plastic sleeves you are talking about? I would think the cue hitting against a clear case as it is carried around would beat it up and wear down the finish. I am pretty sure you meant to say "sleeve" and not "case" right? If it is a case and it has some kind of protective device that keeps the cue from hitting the sides, something that unique just might bring a lot more money! In fact, it could actually be worth more than the cue!!

Did the cuemaker build the cue to have an adjustable weight? If so, what type of weight bolts did he use, so I can be sure I have the proper tools to change it out. And, do you know the minimum weight the cue would be, if all the weight bolts were removed? I can't play with a cue that is 19 ounces, but I can play with one that is closer to 18 ounces. I have a problem with my wrist that makes it hurt and go numb, when I try to use anything over about 18 ounces.

I almost forgot. You said "quick-release" and that can mean simply that there are only a few threads. What size is the pin and is it a stainless pin into wood threads? If I was to buy this, I might like to get some custom joint protectors made to match it.

Hope to hear back from you, soon!

Chris

You've got to be kidding me...... ugh.....

Well in that case he'll want $500 and he has a stack of 40 of them.... If he actually accepts it, I'll be happy to go get it for you.

Hell, I'll pay for it!

I finally got a reply. He said, simply...

"read the listing description"

And when I went to do just that, it said,

"This posting has been deleted by its author."

Darn! I was really wanting to know more about that clear plastic case!!

Yeah, he's mostly known for speed pool. I think he holds a Guiness world record for fastest rack clearance, but he's never won ESPN's speed pool challenge.

And in all the years (4) of speed pool on ESPN, neither he nor anyone else has come within 25 seconds of his so called record. Hmmmmmmm?

You must have used the old Link

It is not deleted. http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/spo/1502071110.html
Trust me  It is not just any old cheap sleeve.
It is a Premium 2mil trasparent type display case with heat weld pro-lite seperation. :rotflmao1:
I don't know how he gets the picture without breaking the seal from China??
I got a feeling he has more than one of these he has sold or left to sell.:yeah:
I just hope you guys are not mentioning AZ forum as you contact him. :nono:
We sure don't need his sales tactics here.:frown:

Clear your cache, then reload your browser. It is deleted. You are obviously reloading the page from your cache.

Nope.
Try this
http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/spo/1510173066.html

It was put up again on the 14th. He might do that just to make it current.
Or he might of sold the other one and put up the next one.
Trust me he probably has quite a few.

He really just asking for offers. Has anybody made one over $100 that he turned down?

I'm sure the seller is NOT Dave Pearson.

Not only is David a Player, but he travels worldwide doing pool exhibitions. In fact, according to Thorsten, he's one of the highest paid pool exhibitionists in the world. Ironically, Dave lives in Vegas and does have an inexpensive line of cues.

I'm not sure who brought up daves name, but these could be his cues, but it's not daves postings. Maybe someone pretending to be him....

True thing Dave Pearson is not directly involved!!
The guy from Seattle is just selling the GW cues which is Dave's line you speak of.
The other cue with the fake ivory the one he claims he bought from a cuemaker in Vegas is not from GW. But it is imported.
Anything under $125 delivered or $100 picked up for either cue would be fair.

I just sent him this message...

It looks real nice. Is the weight adjustable? Also, can you change the tip to the type that screws on? They're the best because they're the easiest for me to replace. Thanks.

Certainly his record was done on a smaller table. Not sure if that accounts for the whole 25 seconds though.
