Crown Vs anywhere to be found?

My friend's father is looking to buy a table for his basement and wanted to know my thoughts on the Crown V. I told him I've never seen one. Does anyone know of any poolrooms that have them in the New York area?

Are you talking about the Gold Crown V?

Unfortunately, I don't know of any in the NYC metro area (although someone else may know of one).

Eric >maybe dad wants whiskey?

I have a GC V. It plays exactly like a IV.

Well, my big concern is that there seem to be two types of GC IVs. There is the early model that plays an awful lot like the GC III and then there are these newer tables that are really bouncy. There were also ball-return issues with the GC IV - some of you guys may recall how balls would fall right onto the floor all the time until Brunswick installed a slab of wood in the catch to slow down the balls.

I give lessons to a person that owns a Gold Crown V. I look forward to going to his house. I usually do my teaching at my home. This table makes it worth going to his place. He of course has plenty of room and great lighting.

Jude...Brunswick has had "issues" with their ball-return design from the beginning (imo it's a design flaw). There are no GC models that the ball returns work perfectly all the time...never have been.

If the GCV is set up correctly, there really is no difference in the play vs a GC4 or 3, but it all depends on WHO sets up the tables:grin: There is no difference's between the first run GCV's and newer GCV's:grin:

Sorry if I sound frustrated here but my intent is to try and play on one BEFORE my friend's father buys one. You know, take it for a test drive? I don't need deals or testimonials or educated assumptions. I simply want to play on one. I'm looking for a poolroom anywhere in the northeast that has a Brunswick Gold Crown V (not to be mistaken for Crown Royal Whiskey or the GC IV, III, II or I). If you know of any place, please respond. If you own one and live 3,000 miles away, please refrain from responding.

If you're in the Southern California area, I can get you a brand new GC V delivered and set-up with accessories for 7K. This is a retail $9,000 table.
That's probably the best deal available now.

I have a GC I for sale. It is currently over seas, but could be available if you own a boat and could pick it up. The table plays real good. It has drop pockets so you wouldn't have to worry about the ball return dropping balls on the floor.:oink::oink:

Just messing with you.

Good luck on your quest to find a GOLD CROWN 5 to play on in NEW YORK.

I am hoping to shoot on one as well. They sure look nice. Seems like Brunswick has most of the wrinkles ironed out on this model.

Thanks Jay. What's the return policy? I only need it for 2 hours.
