My friend's father is looking to buy a table for his basement and wanted to know my thoughts on the Crown V. I told him I've never seen one. Does anyone know of any poolrooms that have them in the New York area?
There are some GC IV's in Astoria NY. Check out Craigslist.
I have a GC V. It plays exactly like a IV.
If he gives up on the 5 and wants a 4, I have some for $2k.
There were also ball-return issues with the GC IV - some of you guys may recall how balls would fall right onto the floor all the time until Brunswick installed a slab of wood in the catch to slow down the balls.

Well, my big concern is that there seem to be two types of GC IVs. There is the early model that plays an awful lot like the GC III and then there are these newer tables that are really bouncy. I thought you bought a GC III from B'way.
Sorry if I sound frustrated here but my intent is to try and play on one BEFORE my friend's father buys one. You know, take it for a test drive? I don't need deals or testimonials or educated assumptions. I simply want to play on one. I'm looking for a poolroom anywhere in the northeast that has a Brunswick Gold Crown V (not to be mistaken for Crown Royal Whiskey or the GC IV, III, II or I). If you know of any place, please respond. If you own one and live 3,000 miles away, please refrain from responding.
If you're in the Southern California area, I can get you a brand new GC V delivered and set-up with accessories for 7K. This is a retail $9,000 table.
That's probably the best deal available now.
There are no GC models that the ball returns work perfectly all the time...never have been.
