Is this an exhibition, as in the OP and the press release both, nothing was
said about any money ???

Seems like an exhibition, I guess.

Found some video of one of their last matches over on Ko's turf. Would be nice to see the rest of the match.

for those who want to know how it ended and who got the BIG payout for this event...

I did some digging and found the video -Guinness World Series of Pool 2011 Final SVB vs Ko Pin-Yi

Ko Pin Yi can play. After a couple of safety exchanges early in the match, it turned into a run-out fest in this alternate break event.

Game 1 SVB break. SVB won a safety battle first game after he made a ball on the break.
Game 2 KPY break. Hung the 9 (his only missed ball of the match?) and SVB kicked it in and got out to reach 2-0.
Game 3 SVB break. Got funny on the 2 ball and tried to play safe. KPY's safe failed, leaving a long straight in 2 ball. SVB missed it (his only missed ball of the match?) KPY runs out. 2-1
Game 4 KPY BNR (break & run) 2-2
Game 5 SVB dry break. KPY plays a great safe on 1 and SVB fouls. KPY runs out. 3-2

From there KPY runs out every turn at the table- for the next 8 or so games. Shane's break fails him, and he breaks dry 2/3 tries. He runs out when he makes a ball, though.

They're about even on safety battles at the end of the match, but KPY broke, made a ball, and had control of the table after every break. From what I remember, SVB made a few errors (1 position error forcing a kick, 1 position error leading to a poor safe, 1 missed ball, 1 fouled kick, and 1 missed return safety attempt) and was beaten 11-4.

I'm certain SVB is ready for some payback.

That's awesome to hear. It is certainly going to be a great event for everyone!

That was a 41K payday vs 11K payday for shane.

Race to 21 from 2 world class players, this is anyone's match. Far from the throw 10K at shane and it is an easy steal like some here would like to believe.

That's right. Watching SVB BNR someone like Nick E (no offence Nick is good player but he is in different league from SVB and Ko) does not translate to him doing same with awesome breaker like Ko whose safety game and CB control ain't too shabby either. Putting packs together is no big deal to Ko. Unless SVB or Ko can BNR 21, they will both get turns at table and will be putting packs together so should've quite a close match. IMHO, Ko has slight edge over SVB and should win this by up to 5 racks ;)

That is a bold statement...21-16, ko wins!

Will definitely watch this match! Would love it if they extended the race to at least 30 though. With these two players 21 is too short to see who is playing better in my opinion.

I'm planning on being there and I'll take 5 games on the wire.

I think Ko is great but I just feel like Vegas is really like home court for Shane.
