CTE and throw

Oh Yeah Baby!!!!!!!!

If the 6 ball goes by the 9 into the pocket you CAN make it with cte and your other shot is a joke(14ball) you def. can make that with cte.... along with any other shot that can see the pocket or bank!!!!!

This topic makes me laugh! I use CTE and I dare challenge anyone to a few different cut shots, using CTE vs., just banging the ball. Now, I adjust much like Stevie Moore, Matt Krah, and the MANY other pros that use parallel lines and CTE, or a variation there of it.

Just because you can't grasp the concept doesn’t mean it is outright wrong.

What you all fail to realize is your body and mind when in sync will recognize the adjustments, sometimes slight adjustments to make the ball. I will challenge anyone (on this forum) to cut shots up the rail 8 foot shots with a the CB center of the table and the OB 1/2 inch off the rail. Ill make this shot all day using CTE. But I don't pivot, I adjust.

So you line up using CTE and then adjust and shoot the shot the way the rest of us do:D

Now it's getting more like home in here....

Still a few absent from the proceedings. I'm sure they'll be along any time now. :p

Very true, it gives me a starting point, and having a starting point is part of my pre-shot routine, to look at that spot, adjust in my mind, get down ont he shot and execute. But somtimes, I just get down shot Center to edge and make the ball. It works... And everyone on AZ that thinks it dosn't its becuase you dont want it to.

I wonder how Pocketpoint25 feels about this thread? Ok...it didn't get that high...I think it stopped at about 15 or so. Nevermind, carry on. I find when I pivot before passing gas I have about a 98% chance in making it go in the right direction toward its target.

I challenge you to these shots: The first one, put the green stripe in the corner, the second put the 6 in the corner behind the 9. Simple cut shots.

The first shot, hardest part is all of the other balls in your way. Being a righty, I gotta use the bridge and I hate using the bridge over a bunch of balls. Other than that, it looks like a hanger. Pockets looks very tight but none the less, a hanger.

The second shot, you're jacked up with makes any shots slightly harder.. and its unclear if it passes or not. Assuming it does or you wouldn't have posted it... it to is a hanger.

Not sure what you mean hanger.

I made the first one using a bridge, which is the only way on a 9 ft table and yes that table has some tight pockets. When I did it, the ball went center pocket.

The second is a bank shot in that you have to the left corner of the pocket because there is not enough room to go by the 9. Hitting the left corner with the right speed, the 6 will go in the pocket. Plus having to shot over a ball that is located as in the pic adds a level of difficulty. And yes, I made that one also.

The point of these pics is to point out that not shots in up in the idea shooting position and that sometimes there are shots you have to do you never seen before, unless you spend hour, after hour of just randomly hitting ball after ball.

Practicing one type of shot and then saying because you can do that shot to a high degree is not because of the system, but from practicing that shot over and over. It is the shot you have never seen before nor have ever done that matters.

I did notice that the challenge was limited to a range of cut shots and not all shots.

There is only one system that works for all shots.

That's what SPF is -- [s]trategically-[p]ivoted [f]latulation. And it's been around a long time. Methinks that's what that scene in a Monty Python movie was about, when the knight peering over the top of the castle wall said to his opponent, "I f*rt in your general direction!"

Lol, don't forget to hold your finish and keep your eyes on the target not the object ball i.e. your butt before final release.

"Now go away, before I taunt you a second time!"

And it works because you want it to.

Confidence is huge in playing good pool and anything you believe in strongly enough has to help.

I am not a believer but realize there are many ways to get the job done and concede CTE may be one of them. I know enough players that use it to believe it has merit. IMO some of the true believers take it a little too far with their claims and that is why these threads usually end up in a flame war.

I like the way you make a common sense non antagonistic reply to the questions on your thread. If it works for you, great. I have been playing for almost 60 years without it and doubt if I could absorb it now and really don't want to try. I still hit em pretty well and want to keep it up as long as I can.

I was around Hal Houle quite a bit 30 years ago and he had a lot of systems. This seems to be the one that stuck. Hal Mix was also around the same time and he also had his system and even had a book/brochure published that was easier to understand and made more sense to me.

You can aim a bank several different ways and make the ball. Speed, stroke and spin allow you to aim at different parts of the ball. The table and cloth and weather also factor in. So with that said, a cut shot is a much better way of testing aiming. I don't remember accepting any challenges but I would like to think I'm the favorite with either of these shots depending on what you want the cueball to do.

I know its hard for you to believe that this junk actually works and thats fine, you don't have to. I'm sure you're a good player and don't need to improve ball pocketing.
