CTE- who thinks it's great?

I use CTE PRO-ONE as taught by Stan Shuffet. It is truly amazing and while I'm not going to say its for everyone I do believe that over a short period of time (beginning when the dvd comes out ) that it will become a part an integral part of aiming in pool. It is the real deal.

I've never had the patience to read all the threads about CTE and try to understand what the heck it all meant. It all seems pretty complicated.

In the end, it seems to me, anyway, that all aiming systems rely on guestimating. I also think the whole aiming thing is being made way more complicated than it has to be.

I don't know about CTE but lots of systems don't work when using english, and lots of systems require twisting your backhand (which IMO is the exact opposite of attaining a true straight stroke.)

Why over complicate something so simple as using an aiming system that makes the aiming point the same as the contact point, and by not having it matter what english you use. A system so simple, so straight forward that it requires much less guesstimating. I mean just use the edge of your shaft into the aim point and shoot. Why jump through all these hoops?

What's your opinion?

CTE WORKS FOR ME.

I learned from Hal Houle in 2001, after reading the same bickering on RSB. Hal actually had several systems, with CTE/ one aim for every shot, being the latest evolution.

Hal is the grandfather of cte. All the modern day instructors teaching it, got it originally from Hal.

I think CTE is great (for the people who can use it effectively).

I think DAM is better.

And I think VEPS is the best.

Eric, Didn't know you were a CTEer. How well did you play prior to learning and what effect has it had on your game?

Great?

After everything else that is needed, then maybe it becomes your focal point, just like an system is suppose to.

I use CTE (SAME AIM) on about 90% of my shots. I use Rote & S.A.M for the rest.

I teach SAME AIM. 75% of those students continue to use SAME AIM. What more can I say.

CTE is a huge part of my aiming process BUT with out Stroke & Alignment nothing will work very well.

Does anyone know any top players that use it, that have nothing to gain by saying they do? How could anyone prove they are using cte? I think if you asked the top players how they aim they would have to think about it. I think most would say its by feel, and they don't think about it. I think they would have to give more thought in ball control. I sure can't say it doesn't work because i have never tried it though.
