So here's the question

We all know the cuemakers who are collectable now but who are the cuemakers that will be the hot commodities 5/10 years from now.

I remember seeing an article years ago that was talking about Black Boar cues and how people should grab one and hang on to it.........boy was he right on target with that one.

Who are you seeing that is displaying the extra talent it takes to become "collectable"?

My opinion

Showman
Haley

I own neither of these but got a Showman on order and have spoken with Ron Haley.

Beware of postings telling you should consider one,,,,,that they have for sale!

LOL

I gotta think Lambros would be a sought after cue in 5-10 years. His attention to detail and his playability is fantastic.

Haley

If Ron Haley is not in the list of cues that are collectable now than he would be on the top of my list. His work is just amazing.

Pete Ohmen (Omen cues) Are real sleepers wright now Quality,
Excellent craftmanship, Excellent hittihg cues with out say.
Ask anyone who has one.

Have you all seen the Sima cues? I am by no means an expert, but they are excellent both in looks, feel, and hit.

Felix

Blackcreek

Travis' work is undoubtably excellent. playable, fit and finish+++++++++++++

cues

Mike Durbin makes some of the nicest cues on the market. The playabilty and the craftsmanship is second to none for the price you can buy one now. I have owned many cues joss west, bludworth, babyface, ect.ect. thay just play better. JIMO

Showman/Haley (NO) < they are already titans of cuemaking and very collectable today. Both have large wait lists. Im on Showmans and I dont come up for another 2 years.

Cantando (YES) < low production numbers and uncertanity on how much longer he will be producing cues.

Gilbert (YES) < he keeps pushing the enevlope on his high level designs. see examples from Highendcues and Cueaddicts

Blackcreek (YES) <strong execution of traditional designs

Mike Webb (YES) His point work is incredible

My 2 cents- If a cue maker already has a wait list of 3+ years, IMO it should be considered "ground floor"

Mike

My two cents...

Grab up a Sugartree while you can...I've heard Eric is about to start concentrating on mostly high end cues.

Olney
Barnhart
Haley(even though they are high his work is so good they will still go up)

Lambros
he was hot 5 years ago and then the bottom fell out.his plain 4 and 6 pointers used to bring close $2000,now they can be had for $1300-$1400.

I Just Got A Cue In From Tony Zinzolla, And The Execution Is Very Nice. I Had Seen Some Pictures, But They Do His Veneers No Justice.

P.s. Haley, showman And Cantando Don't Belong On This List. They Are Already Collectable.

Tim Scruggs and Mike Cochran

I am sure that Tim Scruggs is already on the list, as he has been making great looking and playing cues for a long time. Mike Cochran should definitely be on the list as well. It would be hard to find two better people to work with! (My avatar is the joint on my Cochran)

Mark

I think sugartree to a degree, scruggs because he should be retired by then.

Cue market has changed a lot in the last 10 years so who really knows. Haley is already a collectors cue, showman as well.
