Cue Design Websites

Is there any place out there where you can go and design your own cue?

I am talking about a website where you have access to tons of various inlays, points, diagrams, aesthetics, etc, etc. And can make a cue just exactly like you want.

As an example, I am sure almost all the various automakers have a "Build Your Own" feature on their websites. That's similar to what I am talking about.

There was one member here about 15 years ago he was making super nice drawings of cues. I think he was using a very basic program such as microsoft paint or similar. He would post a lot of them, with a new one every couple of weeks. They looked so good I think they fooled us all which were drawings and which were photographs of actual cues. I forgot the member's name.

I could have sworn at some point I saw a website that had what DCP is asking about. This too was at least 10 years ago. If I'm remembering right, it was very rudimentary. I haven't seen anything since.

I'm actually surprised someone hasn't figured out how to make a website to do this in all these years.

I did one in MS Paint once and took it to my cue maker. It looked awful but was enough to get my point across.

I'd just look at some of the pics on this site, there are MANY. You'll likely get some ideas of what your looking for.

You could ask AI to create an image of the cue.
Have you seen the results of that?

The results I saw posted were literally unplayable. LOL!

AI? Frankly, I wouldn't advise using it for anything except trivial matters. Cues are too important for that toy.

He already knows what he wants.

He wants to draw it.

Sometimes the Doc has to lay down the hard truth

Eddie/Studiotronics used AI to design a cue. It took him a while to get to something he liked:

Yeah, it's also Eddie. The man does impressive work. Smart. Talented.

I could buy me a wood lathe, but that wouldn't make me George Balabushka.

I really dig his videos by the way.

The thing is that you need to understand the tooling and cutting methods and the tools themselves to make the various shapes.
Then you need to understand the inlay process, and often the buildup processes in order to create the pattern you want on the cue.

You COULD invent any pattern, one that could only be created/routed on a machine no cue builder could afford, and where does that leave you ?!?
